Tight-Space Ratcheting With a 2.5 degree arc swing and 144 ratcheting positions, this wrench keeps turning fasteners where a standard wrench runs out of room. Flex Head Access The non-lockable flex head reaches around hoses, brackets, and other obstructions so you can get on stubborn fasteners without fighting the tool. Stronger Open-End Grip Milwaukee's MAX BITE open end grips nuts and bolts harder for up to 25% more torque than smooth-faced wrenches, which helps reduce slipping and rounded hardware.

Overview

The Milwaukee 45-96-9624 24MM Flex Head Ratcheting Combination Wrench is built for mechanics, equipment techs, and anyone working around larger metric fasteners where access is usually the problem. This is a ratcheting combination wrench designed for tightening and loosening 24 mm nuts and bolts in tight spaces. Model Number: 45-96-9624. If you spend time under hoods, around machinery, or inside cramped assemblies, this wrench matters because it lets you keep moving instead of constantly lifting and resetting the tool.

The big story here is the ratcheting box end. Milwaukee gives this wrench a 2.5 degree arc swing and 144 ratcheting positions, which is exactly the kind of spec that pays off when there is barely enough room to move your hand. In practical terms, it means faster turns on long bolts and less wasted motion when you are boxed in by lines, housings, or other hardware. The flex head adds even more reach by letting you approach the fastener at a better angle instead of forcing a straight shot.

On the open end, Milwaukee uses its MAX BITE grip design to help the wrench bite into flats more securely. That matters on older or stubborn fasteners where a smooth open end is more likely to skate or round the corners. Milwaukee claims up to 25% more torque than smooth-faced wrenches, and the real benefit is simple: better grip means more control and less drama when a fastener does not want to move.

Milwaukee also put some thought into durability. The ratcheting mechanism uses double-stacked pawls, which is a stronger setup than the lighter mechanisms you find in cheaper ratcheting wrenches. If this is going into a daily-use service cart instead of a weekend toolbox, that matters. The wrench is made from chrome vanadium steel and finished with chrome plating for corrosion resistance, so it is better suited to the grime, humidity, and chemical exposure that come with automotive and industrial work.

The handle shape is another detail worth calling out. The I-beam handle design gives you a comfortable grip without making the wrench bulky. That helps on longer jobs where you are leaning on the tool repeatedly. Milwaukee also uses ink-filled size markings, which sounds minor until you are grabbing tools quickly from a drawer and need to identify 24 mm at a glance instead of flipping the wrench around in bad light.

This Milwaukee combination wrench is a metric hand tool, so there is no battery platform or accessory system to worry about. What does matter is fit and task match: it is a 24 mm wrench with a 12-point ratcheting box end and a non-lockable flex head. That makes it a strong choice for automotive repair, heavy equipment service, maintenance work, and assembly tasks where larger metric hardware and limited swing space are common.

If you are the kind of user who values speed and access more than gimmicks, this is the right kind of wrench. It is especially useful for pros who already know where standard combination wrenches slow them down. If you rarely deal with larger metric fasteners, it may sit in the drawer. But if 24 mm is part of your regular work, this is one of those tools that earns its spot fast.

Reach Fasteners That Straight Wrenches Fight

Access is what separates a useful ratcheting wrench from one that just looks good in the drawer. The flex head and fine ratcheting action help this wrench work around hoses, castings, and tight engine or machinery clearances where a fixed head wrench would force constant repositioning.

• 2.5 degree arc swing helps keep the wrench moving in cramped spaces
• 144 ratcheting positions reduce reset time on long or awkward fasteners

Dial In the Head Feel You Want

The adjustable set screw lets you tune head tension to your preference. That is a small detail with real value because some users want a looser head for quick repositioning, while others want more resistance so the angle stays put while they work around obstructions.

• Adjustable set screw changes flex head tension
• Non-lockable flex head trades lock positions for smoother access and faster angle changes

Milwaukee 45-96-9624 24MM Flex Head Ratcheting Combination Wrench Built for Daily Use

This is the kind of hand tool that gets grabbed over and over because the details are practical. Chrome vanadium steel, chrome plating, a comfortable I-beam handle, and easy-to-read ink-filled size markings all add up to a wrench that is ready for real shop work, not just occasional use.

• Chrome vanadium steel construction for strength
• Chrome plated finish helps resist rust and shop grime

Pro Tip

If the flex head feels too loose or too stiff for the way you work, take a second to adjust the set screw before you start the job. Getting that head tension right makes a big difference when you are reaching around hoses or trying to keep the wrench angle steady on a buried fastener.

Tool Nut's Take

A Real Upgrade Over a Basic 24 mm Wrench

The Milwaukee 45-96-9624 24MM Flex Head Ratcheting Combination Wrench earns its keep when larger metric hardware is buried in places your hand barely fits.

• Who it's for: Mechanics, maintenance techs, and serious DIY users who regularly deal with 24 mm fasteners on vehicles, equipment, or machinery.
• Why it stands out: The combination of a 2.5 degree arc swing, 144 ratcheting positions, flex head access, and MAX BITE open-end grip solves the two problems that matter most: space and slipping.
• Worth knowing: This is a single-size wrench, so it makes the most sense if 24 mm is already part of your regular work. If it is, this one is a lot nicer to live with than a basic fixed wrench.
