Key Features

Sockets Inside the Head The INSIDER box ratchet takes sockets directly in the head, giving a head profile Milwaukee rates at over 3/4" shorter with the socket installed, so it fits where a standard cordless ratchet and socket stack won't. 60 ft-lbs at 350 RPM A POWERSTATE brushless motor breaks loose stubborn fasteners and then spins them out fast, so you spend less time hand-ratcheting in tight engine bays. 700 Lumens Where You Work The included M12 ROVER flood light sticks to steel with a rear magnet and pivots to aim 700 lumens right at the fastener you're chasing.

Overview

The Milwaukee 3050-21 M12 FUEL INSIDER Extended Reach Box Ratchet with ROVER 700-Lumen Flood Light 2.5Ah Combo Kit pairs Milwaukee's low-profile cordless box ratchet with a compact magnetic service light for automotive technicians, equipment mechanics and maintenance crews. This is a cordless box ratchet kit designed for removing and installing fasteners in tight access areas, bundled with a flood light designed for hands-free service and repair lighting. Model Number 3050-21 with the 2367-20 light. The kit includes the ratchet, a 13-piece metric INSIDER socket set, three adapters, an M12 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT CP2.5 battery, a charger and the ROVER light.

The INSIDER design is what sets this ratchet apart. Instead of hanging a socket off a square drive, the 6-point INSIDER sockets and adapters slide directly into the head, and they can go in from either side so the trigger never blocks your access. Milwaukee rates the head profile at over 3/4" shorter with the socket installed, which is the difference between reaching a bolt between hoses and brackets or pulling parts to get to it. The extended reach neck also keeps your knuckles farther from sharp edges and hot surfaces.

Performance holds up, too. Milwaukee claims the best combination of speed and torque paired with the smallest head size among cordless ratchets. The POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers up to 60 ft-lbs of max torque and 350 RPM, enough to break loose stubborn fasteners and then run them out quickly. An extended paddle switch works from multiple grip positions, dual LEDs light the fastener, and the ratchet can be used manually without engaging the motor for final snugging or for breaking hardware loose by feel. An on-board fuel gauge shows remaining run time.

The socket kit covers the common metric sizes: 8 through 19 mm plus 21 mm. The 6-point sockets pass through threaded rod up to 15 mm and 9/16", so you can run a nut down a long stud without the socket bottoming out. Three adapters extend the ratchet beyond its own sockets: a 1/4" hex adapter for driver bits, a 1/4" anvil adapter and a 3/8" anvil adapter for standard sockets and accessories.

The second half of the kit is the Milwaukee 2367-20 M12 ROVER Service and Repair Flood Light. It puts out 700 lumens of TRUEVIEW high definition light, and its head pivots 120 degrees to aim the beam without moving the light. A strong rear-facing magnet holds it on hoods, fenders, breaker panels and ductwork, and an integrated keyhole hangs it where there's no steel. Milwaukee rates runtime at up to 24 hours on an M12 XC 4.0Ah battery; the included compact 2.5Ah pack runs it for less.

The ROVER is built for the same abuse as the ratchet. It carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, survives drops up to 9 ft, and protects the LEDs behind an impact-resistant lens. The overmolded base doubles as a handheld inspection light, and a 2.1 A USB port charges a phone or other device from the same M12 battery.

The included M12 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT CP2.5 battery has a housing built to resist the oils, greases and solvents common in automotive and manufacturing shops. Both tools run on the Milwaukee M12 system, which Milwaukee says includes over 150 solutions, so the battery and charger move to the rest of your 12V tools.

Who should buy it? Automotive and diesel technicians, fleet and equipment mechanics, HVAC and industrial maintenance techs, and serious DIYers who keep running out of room with a standard ratchet.

Reach Fasteners Standard Ratchets Miss

Access is the whole point. The direct-insert sockets and long neck get onto fasteners blocked by surrounding parts, where a conventional cordless ratchet is too tall to fit.

• Sockets insert from either side of the head
• Extended reach neck reduces knuckle busting
• Pass-through sockets up to 15 mm and 9/16"

Light That Stays Put

Stick the ROVER to the hood, aim the head and keep both hands on the job. No holding a flashlight in your teeth.

• Rear magnet plus keyhole for overhead hanging
• Head pivots 120 degrees
• IP54 rated with a 9 ft drop rating

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

The Milwaukee 3050-21 M12 FUEL INSIDER Extended Reach Box Ratchet with ROVER Flood Light Solves Access and Lighting in One Kit

The two biggest headaches in a packed engine bay are getting a ratchet on the bolt and seeing it; this kit handles both.

• Who it's for: Automotive, fleet and equipment techs who work in cramped spaces every day, plus M12 owners adding a specialty ratchet and a service light.
• Why it stands out: Direct-insert sockets cut head height, 60 ft-lbs handles real fasteners, and the magnetic ROVER puts 700 lumens exactly where you need it.
• Worth knowing: One battery is included, so running the ratchet and the light at the same time takes a second M12 pack.

Common Questions

• How many batteries come in the kit? One M12 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT CP2.5 battery, plus an M12 charger.
• Can I use my regular sockets? Yes, with the included 1/4" or 3/8" anvil adapter. INSIDER sockets insert directly into the head.
• Can the ratchet be used without the motor? Yes. It can be turned manually without engaging the motor.
• How long does the ROVER light run? Milwaukee rates it at up to 24 hours on an M12 XC 4.0Ah battery. Runtime on the included 2.5Ah pack is shorter.
