Key Features

Long Reach ControlThe telescoping shaft adjusts from 9 ft to 13 ft, giving you overhead reach for pruning without dragging out a ladder for every cut. That means faster branch work with better footing and less setup time. Fast Clean CutsWith a 25 m/s chain speed and a POWERSTATE brushless motor, this cordless pole saw gets up to speed quickly and keeps cutting through demanding limb work. You spend less time waiting on the saw and more time moving through the job. Built for Field UseThe magnesium cutting head, side-access chain tensioner, automatic oiler, branch hook, and onboard scrench storage all matter when you're trimming all day. Milwaukee clearly built this for real jobsite and property-maintenance use, not occasional backyard duty.

Overview

The Milwaukee 3013-20 M18 FUEL Telescoping Pole Saw is a cordless pole saw built for professional overhead pruning and branch removal. This is a pole saw designed for extended-reach tree trimming and landscape maintenance. Model Number: 3013-20. If you need to cut higher limbs without dealing with gas engine maintenance, this tool gives you the reach, cutting speed, and battery platform support to keep moving through the workday.

Milwaukee designed this saw around demanding users like arborists, utility line crews, and landscape maintenance pros. The POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers up to 2.3 peak horsepower, and the chain reaches a full 25 m/s speed in under 1 second based on the manufacturer description. In plain terms, that means less lag when you squeeze the trigger and quicker cuts when you're working branch after branch. On an overhead trimming job, that kind of response matters because you want the saw to cut cleanly and predictably as soon as you line it up.

The telescoping shaft is one of the big reasons this tool stands out. It adjusts from 9 ft to 13 ft, giving the operator serious overhead reach while still keeping the tool compact enough for transport and storage. Milwaukee also calls out a compact design that lets the whole saw store inside a 6 in conduit carrier, which is a practical detail for crews loading gear into trucks every day. The ergonomic adjustment collar is there for a reason too: changing shaft length quickly is a lot better than fighting clamps or awkward extension sections in the field.

Balance and control are just as important as raw cutting speed on a telescoping pole saw, and Milwaukee addressed that with a lightweight magnesium cutting head. Less weight at the far end of the tool helps reduce that front-heavy feel you get with long-reach saws, especially when making repeated overhead cuts. The sight line improves visibility during precision cutting, while the robust metal branch hook helps pull down hung-up limbs instead of leaving you poking at branches with the bar.

Jobsite practicality is strong here. The side-access chain tensioner makes chain adjustments easier, the captured bar nut helps prevent lost hardware during service, and the automatic oiler keeps the cutting system lubricated without extra fuss. Milwaukee also added onboard scrench storage, which sounds small until you actually need to make a quick bar or chain adjustment away from the truck. The trigger lock-off is designed to improve control and user protection, which matters on a long-reach saw where handling changes as the shaft extends.

Battery platform support is another major selling point. This tool runs on the Milwaukee M18 battery system and is fully compatible with more than 250 M18 solutions. Milwaukee also states that the saw is optimized for M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT batteries, which is worth paying attention to if you want the strongest performance from a cordless outdoor power tool. For users already invested in M18, this bare tool makes a lot of sense because it drops into an existing battery and charger setup instead of forcing you into a separate outdoor platform.

Compared with gas pole saws, the benefit is pretty straightforward: no pull starts, no fuel mixing, fewer maintenance headaches, lower noise, and no engine exhaust. That makes the Milwaukee 3013-20 M18 FUEL Telescoping Pole Saw a strong fit for pros who want gas-like cutting performance in a cordless format, especially for trimming, pruning, and property maintenance where convenience and quick deployment are just as important as power.

Who should buy it? Contractors and serious users who routinely handle overhead limb work and already value the M18 platform. If you're a homeowner trimming one or two small branches a season, this is probably more tool than you need. But if you're doing regular tree maintenance, landscape cleanup, utility right-of-way work, or repeated pruning jobs, this telescoping pole saw is built for exactly that kind of workload.

Reach Higher Without Constant Repositioning

This is the real advantage of a telescoping pole saw: more work from the ground and fewer interruptions. When you're clearing limbs along property lines, trails, or utility access areas, reach saves time.

• Adjustable shaft extends from 9 ft to 13 ft
• Milwaukee highlights up to 15 ft overhead reach in use

Milwaukee 3013-20 M18 FUEL Telescoping Pole Saw Built for Serviceability

Long-reach tools only earn their keep if they are easy to maintain in the field. Milwaukee added the details that make a difference when you're adjusting chain tension, topping off oil, or packing the saw into the truck.

• Side-access chain tensioner allows quick chain adjustments
• Captured bar nut, onboard scrench storage, and automatic oiler help reduce downtime
