2-1/2 in CapacityCuts up to 2-1/2 in x 2-1/2 in, which is the number that matters when you are working with common strut, pipe, conduit, and threaded rod. Bigger capacity in a compact saw means fewer trips back for a larger tool. Light 6 lb BuildAt 6 lb, this compact band saw is easier to control overhead and in tight mechanical spaces. Less weight helps when you are making repeated cuts all day. Overview

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL Compact Band Saw Kit, model 2529-21XC, is a cordless compact band saw kit built for clean metal cutting on the job. This is a compact band saw kit designed for cutting pipe, conduit, strut, and threaded rod in tight working areas. If you need a saw that is easier to carry, easier to hang between cuts, and easier to use overhead than a larger portable band saw, this is the point of this tool.

The big number here is the 2-1/2 in x 2-1/2 in cut capacity. That gives the Milwaukee M12 FUEL Compact Band Saw Kit enough room for common electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general construction materials without stepping up to a bulkier saw. Milwaukee also calls out Constant Power Technology and a POWERSTATE brushless motor, and the practical takeaway is simple: this saw is built to keep cutting speed up in metal rather than feeling bogged down when the material gets serious.

At 6 lb, this saw stays in the conversation because it is light for its class. That matters more than spec-sheet bragging when you are cutting overhead, reaching into a rack, or moving from hanger to hanger. The compact layout and straight handle help it fit where a full-size deep-cut band saw would be awkward, and the integrated blade covers are there for one-handed use. For installers and service techs, that combination is what makes the tool practical instead of just portable.

Milwaukee also built this saw around real jobsite use. Jobsite Armor protection is there to help the tool handle drops, debris, and the general abuse that comes with working out of a van or on a commercial build. The adjustable shoe helps the saw sit correctly against larger material, while the LED work light gives you a better view of the cut line in dim utility rooms, ceilings, and mechanical chases. The integrated rafter hook is another small feature that earns its keep fast because you can hang the saw on a ladder, cart, pipe stand, or similar spot between cuts instead of setting it on the floor every time.

The kit runs on the Milwaukee M12 battery system and includes an M12 REDLITHIUM XC 4.0 battery. That matters if you are already on M12 because the saw drops right into the same battery platform used across a wide range of Milwaukee cordless tools. If you are not on M12 yet, this kit gives you a clean starting point with the battery and charger included. Milwaukee also lists compatibility with the band saw reamer attachment 49-90-2029, sold separately, which lets the same tool handle cut-and-ream workflows.

The included blade is a 30-9/16 in 12/14 TPI compact extreme thin metal band saw blade, which fits the saw's metal-cutting role. That tooth count is a solid match for the kind of mixed jobsite metal work this saw is meant to handle. Instead of treating the blade like an afterthought, Milwaukee set this kit up so you can get to work right away with a blade intended for thin metal cutting.

Who is this for? Electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, maintenance techs, and remodelers are the obvious fit. It also makes sense for general contractors who want a smaller cordless metal-cutting saw for punch-list work, service calls, and jobs where carrying a larger band saw is overkill. If your day involves repeated cuts in installed metal and you care about one-handed control, lighter weight, and M12 platform convenience, this is the right kind of band saw kit.

Compact Size That Actually Helps on Site

This saw is built for the kind of work where space disappears fast. The compact body, 6 lb weight, and one-handed use design make it easier to bring a band saw into finished spaces, overhead runs, and crowded mechanical areas.
