Tight-Space Ratchets The 90-tooth ratchets work with just 4 degrees of arc swing, so you can keep turning fasteners where a standard ratchet needs more room. Better Control Large knurling on the extensions gives you more grip for hand-starting fasteners and working with oily parts without fumbling around. Organized for PACKOUT This Milwaukee ratchet and accessory set comes in a reinforced EVA foam tray with size labels and is built to drop into select PACKOUT drawers for clean storage.

Overview

The Milwaukee 23 pc. 1/4", 3/8", & 1/2" Drive Ratchet and Accessory Set is a 23-piece mechanics hand tool set built around three drive sizes and a storage tray that fits select PACKOUT drawer systems. Model Number 48-22-0153. This is a ratchet and accessory set designed for fastener access, hand tightening, and organized mechanical work in tight spaces. If you work on vehicles, equipment, or general shop repairs, this set is aimed at the jobs where reach, control, and storage matter just as much as raw strength.

The biggest story here is the ratchets. Milwaukee uses a 90-tooth design with a 4-degree arc swing, which means you can move a fastener with very little handle travel. That matters under dashboards, around engine components, and anywhere brackets, hoses, or frame rails leave you with almost no room to reset. The slim profile head and flush directional lever also help the ratchet get into spots where bulkier heads and proud reversing levers tend to hang up.

This set is not just three ratchets tossed in a box. It is built as a working accessory system with 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch drive ratchets, matching extensions, universal joints, adapters, a 15 inch breaker bar, hook and pick tools, and a reinforced storage tray. The extensions use a large knurling surface for better finger control when you need to start a fastener by hand before putting real torque on it. Milwaukee also calls out knurling on the female drive end, which is useful when your hands are oily and you still need to make small adjustments without reaching for another tool.

The accessory design is practical. The universal joints add wobble-style access for awkward angles, and Milwaukee states they provide an additional 8 degrees of access. The adapters use a four-flat design that helps keep them from rolling away and makes them wrench-ready when the situation calls for it. The hook and pick tools use an all-metal core for up to 50% more durability, which matters because picks usually fail when someone leans on them to break loose clips, seals, or stubborn O-rings.

Storage is a real selling point here, especially if you are already running PACKOUT. The reinforced EVA foam tray gives every piece a dedicated home and uses easy-to-read size labeling for quick identification. That saves time on the bench and makes missing pieces obvious at the end of a job. Milwaukee also states the tray fits PACKOUT Drawers 48-22-8444, 48-22-8443, 48-22-8442, and 48-22-8447, so this is a legit option for mechanics and service techs trying to keep hand tools organized instead of piled in a generic case.

At 23 pieces and roughly 11.49 pounds, this is a focused set rather than an oversized filler kit. You are getting the core drive tools and accessories that see regular use, not a bunch of low-value extras. The chrome finish helps with rust protection and cleanup, which is important in a shop environment where grease, solvents, and humidity are part of the day.

Who should buy it? This set makes the most sense for automotive techs, diesel mechanics, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users who want one organized ratchet platform covering the three common drive sizes. If you already use PACKOUT drawers, it makes even more sense because the tray is built around that storage setup. If you need sockets included, this is not that kit. This set is about ratchets, access tools, and organization, not a full socket assortment.

Access Fasteners in Less Room

When you are working around crossmembers, splash shields, or engine parts, ratchet clearance is the whole job. The fine-tooth ratchet design and slim head help you keep moving where bulky tools force you to stop and reposition.
