12 Inch ResawIf you need a bandsaw for breaking down thicker stock, the 12 inch resaw capacity is the number that matters. It gives this saw the height to handle serious woodworking instead of just light curve work. Heavy One-Piece FrameLaguna built the 14|BX with a solid one-piece frame and heavier gauge construction. That added mass helps the saw stay planted and supports steadier cuts when you are pushing larger work through the blade. 110 Volt Shop ReadyThe Laguna MBAND14BX110-175 14|BX Bandsaw 110 Volt gives you 1.75 horsepower on standard 110 volt power. That makes it a practical choice for serious home shops and smaller professional spaces without needing a higher-voltage setup.

Overview

The Laguna MBAND14BX110-175 14|BX Bandsaw 110 Volt is a floor-standing woodworking bandsaw built for resawing, ripping, and curved cutting in a serious shop. This is a bandsaw designed for woodworking tasks that demand more throat height, better stability, and cleaner control than entry-level saws usually deliver. Model Number: MBAND14BX110-175. With a 1.75 horsepower motor, 12 inch resaw capacity, and standard 110 volt power, it is aimed at woodworkers who want real shop capability without stepping into a larger industrial power requirement.

The headline spec here is the 12 inch resaw capacity, because that is what separates a light-duty bandsaw from one that can take on thicker boards and wider stock with confidence. Pair that with the 115 inch blade length and you have a saw built for more than just occasional curve cuts. The 21-1/2 inch by 16 inch table gives you a broad work surface for supporting larger material, while the 38 inch table height puts the work at a comfortable level for longer sessions in the shop.

Laguna also made meaningful structural changes on this model compared to the 14|12. The 14|BX gets increased weight, a solid one-piece frame, and heavier gauge construction. That matters in real use because extra rigidity helps the saw track more consistently and feel less nervous when you are feeding heavier stock. The cast iron wheels add to that planted feel and support smoother operation, which is exactly what you want when accuracy depends on steady blade movement.

Jobsite-style convenience features are not the point on a machine like this, but shop practicality definitely is. Laguna includes a magnetic on and off switch, which is a worthwhile upgrade on a stationary tool because it gives the controls a more deliberate, durable feel. There is also a disc brake with micro-switch, which is the kind of feature experienced users appreciate because it helps bring the blade down in a more controlled way after a cut cycle. Dual light mounting positions are another smart touch, especially when you are trying to keep the cut line visible from different working angles.

Dust collection matters on a woodworking bandsaw, especially once you start resawing and making longer cuts that throw more waste into the cabinet and around the lower wheel area. This saw is equipped with two 4 inch dust ports, giving you the airflow potential to manage sawdust more effectively than single-port layouts. The table also tilts 7 degrees to the left, which expands what the saw can do for angled work without turning setup into a fight.

In practical terms, this Laguna bandsaw is best for woodworkers who have moved past hobby-level limitations and want a machine that can stay in the shop for a long time. It fits well in dedicated home shops, cabinet and furniture work, custom woodworking, and small professional shops that need a dependable resaw and general-purpose vertical cutting machine on 110 volt power. If your work regularly involves taller stock, repeatable straight cuts, and a preference for heavier cast-and-steel machinery over lighter consumer-grade saws, this is the right kind of upgrade.

Built to Stay Stable Under Load

This saw is built around mass and rigidity, which is exactly what you want when feed pressure goes up and cut quality still has to stay under control. The heavier construction is not just a spec sheet talking point. It is what helps the saw feel more settled when you are working with larger stock.

• Solid one-piece frame for a more rigid structure
• Increased weight compared to the 14|12 design
• Cast iron wheels support smoother, more stable operation

Set Up for Serious Woodworking Capacity

The numbers on this machine back up its role as a real resaw and shop bandsaw, not a light-duty curve cutter. A 12 inch resaw height, large table, and long blade format give it the capacity needed for bigger woodworking tasks.

• 12 inch resaw capacity for taller stock
• 21-1/2 inch x 16 inch table supports larger workpieces
• 115 inch blade length fits the machine's full cutting range

Thoughtful Shop Features That Actually Matter

Some stationary tool features sound nice on paper but do not change much in use. These do. The magnetic switch, disc brake with micro-switch, and dual light mounting positions all make the saw easier to run day after day in a real shop.

• Magnetic on and off switch for durable machine control
• Disc brake with micro-switch adds controlled stopping
• Dual light mounting positions help you keep the cut area visible

Pro Tip

If you are buying this saw for resaw work, pay attention to dust collection from day one. With two 4 inch dust ports, this machine gives you the airflow setup to keep the cabinet cleaner during longer cuts, which makes the saw easier to maintain and nicer to use over time.
