Overview

The Kreg KHJD345 Dowel Joinery Jig Kit is a dowel joinery jig designed for drilling accurate, repeatable dowel holes in woodworking projects. Model Number: KHJD345. If you build cabinets, furniture, shop fixtures, or need to make solid repairs, this kit gives you a faster way to make clean dowel joints without a pile of measuring, layout work, and second-guessing.

What matters here is control. Kreg built this jig around more than five alignment methods, along with reference lines, alignment pins, and a dowel alignment groove, so you can register the jig in different ways depending on the joint you are making. That helps when you are working on edge joints, center alignment, and other common dowel applications where even a small error shows up fast when parts come together.

The removable drill guide blocks are included in 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch sizes, which covers two of the most common dowel sizes for furniture and cabinet work. Since the guide blocks, bits, stop collars, and alignment pins are matched to those sizes, setup stays straightforward. You are not piecing together a system from random parts and hoping the hole depth and hole location line up.

Kreg also added practical setup details that save time in the real world. The onboard measuring scale and stop collar setting feature help you dial in repeatable drilling depth without a lot of trial and error. When you are drilling multiple matching holes across several parts, those little setup aids are the difference between a clean run of parts and a bench full of pieces that are almost right.

In terms of build, the body is made from impact-resistant polymer, while the drill guides are hardened steel. That is the right mix for a jig like this. The body keeps weight down to about 1.85 lbs for easy handling at the bench, and the hardened steel guide surfaces matter because they help keep the bit tracking straight over repeated use. If accuracy is the whole point of the tool, the guide material matters.

This kit is also designed to work with trigger-style clamps for added stability during drilling. That is a smart detail for anyone doing repeat work or drilling into narrow or awkward parts, because a stable jig is an accurate jig. When the jig stays put, your holes stay where you planned them, and assembly goes smoother.

The Kreg KHJD345 Dowel Joinery Jig Kit is a good fit for woodworkers who want stronger alignment than basic butt joints but do not want the cost or footprint of larger stationary joinery equipment. It makes a lot of sense for cabinet parts, face frames, furniture components, and repair work where clean alignment and hidden joinery matter. Serious DIY users will appreciate how approachable it is, and more experienced woodworkers will appreciate how quickly it gets repeatable results.

Fast Setup for Repeatable Dowel Drilling

This kit is laid out to get you from setup to drilling without wasting time hunting for matching parts. The included guide blocks, bits, stop collars, and alignment pins are built around the two dowel sizes most woodworkers reach for first.

• Includes 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch removable drill guide blocks
• Includes matching drill bits with stop collars for controlled hole depth
• Onboard measuring scale and stop collar setting feature simplify repeat work

Built to Keep Holes Straight

Dowel joinery only works when both parts line up. The hardened steel drill guides, alignment pins, and reference marks are there to reduce wandering, keep spacing consistent, and make assembly go together the way it should.

• Hardened steel drill guides help maintain straight, consistent holes
• Alignment pins support precise placement without heavy layout work
• Dowel alignment groove helps keep matching hole placement consistent across both pieces
