Overview

Knipex 9K 00 80 122 US 3 Pc Cobra Set with Keeper Pouch is a three-piece water pump pliers set built for gripping pipe, nuts, fittings, and other hard-to-hold parts. This is a water pump pliers set designed for adjustable gripping and turning work across a wide size range. Model Number: 9K 00 80 122 US. If you do plumbing, maintenance, mechanical work, or general repair, this set covers the small, medium, and large jobs without making you carry loose pliers around in the toolbox.

The big reason people buy Cobra pliers is speed. The push-button adjustment lets you set the jaw directly on the workpiece, so you are not guessing at groove positions or wasting time opening and closing the tool. Fine adjustment helps you dial in a better fit on different sizes, which matters when you are moving from valves to compression nuts to pipe. Knipex also uses a self-locking jaw design on pipes and nuts, so the pliers stay planted with less hand force and less chance of slipping.

This set includes three sizes: 87 01 125 at 5 inches, 87 01 250 at 10 inches, and 87 01 300 at 12 inches, plus a keeper pouch. That spread is what makes the set useful. The 5 inch pair is handy in tight spaces and service bags. The 10 inch pair is the everyday size most people reach for first. The 12 inch pair gives you the extra reach and capacity for larger fittings and pipe. Max round pipe capacity goes up to 1-1/16 inch on the 5 inch tool, 2 inches on the 10 inch tool, and 2-3/4 inches on the 12 inch tool.

Knipex builds these from chrome vanadium electric steel, then forges and oil-hardens them for strength and durability. The gripping teeth are specially hardened to about 61 HRC, which is why Cobra pliers keep biting instead of rounding off fast. The box-joint design adds stability through a double guide, and the hinge bolt is captured to help prevent unintentional shifting. In plain terms, they feel solid where cheaper adjustable pliers start to loosen up.

Day-to-day usability is also well sorted. The non-slip plastic handles give you a secure hold without getting bulky, and the pinch guard helps protect your fingers during adjustment. The polished jaws and grey atramentized finish give the tool the durable, work-ready setup Knipex is known for. The keeper pouch is a simple addition, but it matters if you want the set to stay together in a service truck, gang box, or drawer.

This set makes the most sense for plumbers, mechanics, maintenance techs, HVAC crews, and serious DIY users who want adjustable pliers that actually grip under load. If you regularly work on round stock, hex fittings, pipe connections, or stubborn hardware, this set earns its keep fast. If you only need one occasional-use plier, a single size may do the job. If you want a dependable adjustable gripping set that covers most real-world situations, this is the smarter buy.

Grip Different Shapes Without Swapping Tools

This set is built for the stuff that makes ordinary pliers struggle: round pipe, hex nuts, flat stock, and odd-shaped parts. Fine jaw adjustment helps the pliers sit correctly on the workpiece so you get a stronger bite with less slipping.

• Self-locking action on pipes and nuts reduces the hand force needed to keep the jaws planted
• Serrated gripping surfaces help hold onto worn fittings and smooth metal parts

Fast Adjustment That Holds Its Setting

The push-button system is one of the main reasons Cobra pliers are so popular. You can size the jaw right on the fitting, then get back to work without fiddling around with a loose slip-joint setup.

• Reliable hinge bolt catch helps prevent unintentional shifting during use
• Box-joint construction adds stability so the pliers track straight under load

Cover Small Service Work to Large Fittings

The size spread is what makes this set practical. You get a compact pair for tight access, a mid-size pair for everyday work, and a larger pair for more capacity and leverage, all stored in one pouch.

• Includes 5 inch, 10 inch, and 12 inch Cobra water pump pliers
• Largest plier handles round pipe up to 2-3/4 inches
