Key Features

Built to Strike The oversized metal strike cap lets you hit the driver with a hammer when a standard screwdriver is not enough. That makes it useful for demolition, prying, and chiseling work where lighter drivers do not belong. More Turning Power The square shank gives you wrench assist for extra leverage. When fasteners are stubborn or material is packed tight, you can put more force on the tool without fighting the handle alone. Serious Demolition Driver This Klein demolition driver uses a 5/16-inch keystone tip and 7-inch shank for deeper reach and tougher work. The flared Cushion-Grip handle helps prevent your hand from slipping and adds protection from mis-strikes.

Overview

Klein 6007DD 5/16-Inch Keystone Demolition Driver is a heavy-duty fixed-blade screwdriver built for demolition, prying, chiseling, and hard-turning slotted fasteners. This is a demolition driver designed for striking, levering, and extra-torque fastening work. Model Number: 6007DD. If you need a driver that can take hammer impact without giving up control in the hand, this is the kind of tool you keep close instead of a standard cabinet screwdriver.

The working end is a 5/16-inch keystone tip on a 7-inch square shank. That combination matters because the longer shank gives you reach, while the square profile gives you wrench assist when hand force alone is not enough. On the job, that means you can break loose stuck screws, push into packed material, or lean on the tool harder when using it for rough-in or tear-out tasks.

What separates this driver from an everyday slotted screwdriver is the strike-through construction. Klein designed, manufactured, and tested it for prying and chiseling, and the oversized metal strike cap is there for a reason. When you need to tap the tool with a hammer to start a cut, free up material, or drive the blade into a seam, the cap and tip-to-cap connection are built for that abuse. That is the difference between a tool meant for bench work and one meant for real demolition use.

The handle is just as job-focused as the blade. The heavy-duty flared Cushion-Grip handle is shaped to reduce slipping and give your hand a better stop point under force. The mushroom-shaped top adds hand protection, which matters when you are swinging a hammer or driving the blade into a joint. It is a simple detail, but it makes the tool easier to control when the work gets rough.

Material and build choices are practical here. The steel blade gives the driver the stiffness needed for prying and chiseling tasks, while the rubber grip handle improves hold when your gloves are on or your hands are dusty. At 12.41 inches overall and 9.6 ounces, it has enough length and mass to feel planted without being overly bulky in a pouch or toolbox.

This Klein 6007DD 5/16-Inch Keystone Demolition Driver is best suited for electricians, remodelers, carpenters, maintenance techs, and general contractors who regularly deal with stubborn slotted screws, trim-out removal, light chiseling, or demolition prep. If you just need a basic slotted driver for delicate finish work, this is more tool than you need. If you want a tough demolition screwdriver that can be struck, twisted with a wrench, and trusted for rough service, this is exactly the point of it.

Use the square shank with a wrench when you need controlled extra torque instead of over-muscling the handle. It is the cleaner way to break loose stubborn slotted screws and helps keep the tip seated better in the fastener.
