Overview

The Hyde Tools 9-1/2-in. Bent Pry Bar/Scraper, model 45600, is a compact hand tool built for light prying, scraping, nail pulling, and trim removal. This is a pry bar/scraper designed for pulling molding, opening boxes, scraping paint, and removing nails. If you want one small bar that handles a lot of day-to-day tasks without taking up much room, this is the kind of tool that earns a permanent spot in the bag.

What makes this tool useful is the way Hyde combines a 90 degree bent end with a ground scraping edge and nail slot. That means it does more than just pry. You can work it behind molding, use the sharpened end to scrape away old paint or material buildup, and then use the slot to pull nails once things start moving. For remodel work, punch-list jobs, paint prep, and general shop use, that kind of versatility saves time because you are not constantly switching between separate hand tools.

The body is made from electrocoated high carbon steel that has been hardened and tempered. In practical terms, that gives the pry bar the stiffness and durability you want from a tool this size. A small pry bar has to stay thin enough to get into tight spaces, but it also needs enough strength to handle leverage without feeling flimsy. Hyde built this one for repeated hand-tool use, not just occasional drawer duty.

The 9-1/2 inch length is a good middle ground for control and portability. It is long enough to give you leverage for trim, molding, and nail work, but short enough to ride easily in a toolbox or pouch. That matters on jobs where you need a quick-access pry bar instead of a longer demolition bar. For painters, remodelers, flooring installers, and general contractors, compact tools like this usually get used more because they are easy to carry and easy to reach for.

Because the scraping end is ground, the Hyde Tools 9-1/2-in. Bent Pry Bar/Scraper also pulls double duty as a prep tool. It is well suited for scraping loose paint, separating stuck materials, or cleaning up surfaces before repair. That makes it a practical fit for renovation and maintenance work where the tool in your hand needs to do a little bit of everything.

Who should buy it? Anyone who regularly deals with trim, molding, nails, painted surfaces, or packaging. It makes sense for remodelers, painters, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users who want a compact steel pry bar that can also scrape. It is not pretending to be a full-size wrecking bar. It is a small, useful, everyday pry tool built for controlled work and quick access.

Get Behind Trim Without Fighting the Tool

The bent end is the whole reason this tool works so well on trim, molding, and other light pry jobs. It helps you start separation cleanly and gives you a better angle when space is tight.

• 90 degree pry end helps reach behind material more easily
• Compact size gives better control for finish work and smaller jobs

Scrape and Pry With One Tool

The ground scraping end makes this more useful than a standard small pry bar. When you are removing paint, breaking loose buildup, or cleaning up edges before repair, you can keep working without swapping tools.

• Ground scraping end is built for paint and surface cleanup
• Useful for prep work, maintenance, and remodeling tasks

Built to Stay in the Bag

This is the kind of hand tool that earns a permanent place in a pouch or toolbox because it handles a bunch of quick tasks well. The nail slot adds one more layer of usefulness when you are pulling finish nails or small fasteners.

• Nail slot helps with fastener removal after trim or panel separation
• 9-1/2 inch size fits easily into toolboxes and pouches
