Overview

The Hedgehog HH-200 Mini Hedgehog Featherboard 2-Pack is a compact vertical hold-down featherboard kit for table saw and router table fence setups. This is a featherboard kit designed for applying downward pressure to keep stock flat and controlled during woodworking cuts. Model HH-200 gives you two Mini Hedgehog featherboards plus a 1/2 inch T-slot router bit, making it a practical setup for woodworkers who want cleaner dados, rabbets, and fence-guided cuts without fighting slow adjustments.

The big selling point here is speed. Traditional featherboards often need two knobs loosened, moved, and tightened again before you can get back to work. The Mini Hedgehog uses a patented spiral design and a single pivot knob, so dialing in pressure is quicker and less annoying when you are moving between different board thicknesses. That matters on a router table or table saw fence where small setup delays add up fast.

This kit is built around vertical hold-down use. Instead of pushing stock sideways into a fence, these featherboards are meant to keep the workpiece planted on the table surface. In real use, that helps reduce chatter, limits lifting, and supports more even cut depth when you are routing grooves, rabbets, or similar profiles. If your goal is a flatter, more controlled pass, that downward pressure is the feature that earns its keep.

Another practical advantage is that the kit does not depend on your machine already having the exact slot you need. The included 1/2 inch T-slot router bit lets you mill custom grooves into a wooden auxiliary fence, so you can create your own mounting track. That makes the HH-200 a good fit for custom fence builds, shop-made router table fences, and table saw accessory fences where off-the-shelf slot patterns are not available.

The Mini Hedgehog is a scaled-down version of the original Hedgehog featherboard, listed by the manufacturer as a 40% scale version. It uses a 1/4-20 T-bolt to fit 1/2 inch T-slots rather than a larger miter-slot style clamp. That smaller format makes sense for fence-mounted hold-down work where you want control and easy placement without a bulky footprint getting in the way.

Material choice is straightforward and shop-friendly. The featherboards are made from impact-resistant polymer for daily use, while the included router bit uses carbide cutters for durability when cutting the needed slot into a wooden fence. At 4.3 ounces total product weight and product dimensions of 4.25 x 1.25 x 2.75 inches, this is a compact accessory kit that does not take up much room in the drawer but solves a very specific setup problem.

The Hedgehog HH-200 Mini Hedgehog Featherboard 2-Pack makes the most sense for woodworkers, cabinet installers, trim carpenters, and serious DIY users who build jigs and fences instead of relying only on factory setups. If you run a router table often, make custom auxiliary fences, or want a faster way to add repeatable hold-down pressure for precision woodworking, this kit is built for that job.

Set Pressure Fast and Get Back to Cutting

The whole point of this setup is quicker adjustment with less fuss. When you are feeding stock across a router table or fence-guided setup, being able to reposition hold-down pressure in seconds keeps the workflow moving.

• Single pivot knob replaces the slower two-knob adjustment style used on many traditional featherboards
• Designed to apply vertical hold-down pressure to help keep stock flat against the table

Create the Slot You Need

If your fence does not already have the right track, this kit solves that problem. The included router bit lets you cut a matching 1/2 inch groove into a wooden auxiliary fence so the featherboards can mount where they make sense for the cut.

• Includes a 1/2 inch T-slot router bit for shop-made fence tracks
• Made for wooden auxiliary fences on table saws and router tables

Keep the Work Flat for Cleaner Joinery

For rabbets, dadoes, and similar fence-guided cuts, consistent downward pressure helps keep the workpiece from lifting as it passes the cutter. That usually means more even depth and a cleaner finished cut.

• Helps reduce chatter and workpiece lift during routing operations
• Compact 40% scale design keeps the accessory smaller and easier to position on a fence

Pro Tip

Route your 1/2 inch fence slot a little longer than you think you need. That gives the HH-200 more adjustment range, which is especially helpful when you switch between narrow parts and full-width panels on the same fence.
