Key Features

Read It Either Way The standard reverse scale is readable when the tape is extended from either the right or left hand. That means less flipping the tape around and less second-guessing measurements when you are working fast. Built for Daily Use This FastCap tape measure uses a heavy-duty 1 inch wide blade with high-contrast markings and a four-rivet nose clip. The result is a tape that is easier to read and better suited to regular jobsite wear. Jobsite Extras That Matter The built-in pencil sharpener, erasable notepad, and lever action belt clip solve small problems you deal with all day. It is the kind of layout tool that saves steps without trying to be complicated.

Overview

FastCap PSSR-16 ProCarpenter Tape Measure is a 16 foot tape measure built for carpenters, remodelers, cabinet installers, and serious DIY users who want faster, easier reading during layout work. This is a tape measure designed for everyday measuring, marking, and jobsite layout. Model Number: PSSR-16. The big story here is the Standard Reverse Lefty/Righty scale, which lets you read the tape clearly whether you are pulling it with your right hand or your left.

That reverse-reading layout matters more than it sounds on the job. If you are measuring from an awkward angle, reaching across sheet goods, or working in a tight corner, a normal tape can force you to twist your wrist or mentally flip the numbers. The PSSR-16 cuts out that nonsense. FastCap also uses easy-read fractional markings down to 1/16 inch, so you can get the number quickly instead of hunting for it.

This tape is built around a heavy-duty 1 inch wide blade and a low-profile 1-1/2 inch case. The wider blade gives the tape a sturdier feel in use, while the slimmer case is easier to carry and easier to fit in a pouch or pocket. The high-contrast tape markings help in dim shops, garages, and indoor remodel spaces where weak lighting can slow down layout work.

FastCap added a few practical touches that make this more than just another measuring tape. There is a built-in pencil sharpener so your layout pencil is ready when you need it. There is also an erasable notepad on the case for quick dimensions, cut lists, and rough notes, plus a lever action belt clip that keeps the tape secure but easy to grab. These are simple features, but they make sense for trim work, punch lists, and repeated measurements where stopping to find a scrap of paper gets old fast.

For users who are hard on their tools, the blade is described as nylon wrapped, and the overall design is aimed at everyday trade use rather than occasional household duty. The four-rivet nose clip is another detail worth noting because that hook area takes a beating over time. If a tape measure lives on your belt all day, those durability details matter.

The FastCap PSSR-16 ProCarpenter Tape Measure is a strong fit for finish carpentry, cabinet work, remodeling, installation work, and general layout tasks where readable markings and quick note-taking are more useful than oversized bulk. If you like smart hand tools that actually make the work smoother, this one earns its place pretty easily.

Measure Faster With Less Tape Flipping

The reverse-reading layout is the real reason to buy this tape. It helps when you are measuring from your left side, reading upside down, or working around installed material where a standard tape makes you stop and think.

• Standard reverse scale is readable from either the right hand or left hand
• Easy-read fractional markings down to 1/16 inch help speed up layout work
• 16 foot length covers common shop, trim, cabinet, and remodeling measurements

Pro Tip

If you bounce between bench work and installed work, keep the PSSR-16 clipped on your belt for left-side pulls and overhead measurements where a regular tape is annoying to read. The reverse scale pays off most when you are measuring without a perfect straight-on view.
