Key Features

Built for 32 mm Layout The True32 layout is made for cabinet and furniture work that follows the European 32 mm system. That means less converting, faster repeat measurements, and fewer chances to mark the wrong hole spacing. Metric Reverse Reading This FastCap tape measure prints metric markings on both edges in a reverse-reading format, so the numbers stay easy to read whether you pull with your left or right hand. It is a small detail that speeds up layout work all day long. Jobsite Extras That Help The erasable note pad, built-in pencil sharpener, lever clip, and dual locking setup are the kind of features you actually notice after a few days on the job. They save steps, keep the tape handy, and make quick layout work easier.

Overview

The FastCap PMMR-TRUE32 5m Metric / Metric Reverse Tape Measure for 32mm is a specialty layout tape built for woodworkers, cabinet installers, and anyone working in millimeters. This is a tape measure designed for cabinet layout, furniture building, and precise metric measuring. Model Number: PMMR-TRUE32. If you build around the 32 mm system, this tape matters because it cuts out conversion headaches and keeps repeat measurements consistent.

What separates this model from a regular tape measure is the blade layout. Instead of giving you a mixed system that makes you stop and think, this one is metric on both edges with reverse-reading marks so it works naturally from either direction. For left-hand or right-hand pulls, the numbers stay readable. That is a real advantage when you are reaching into cabinets, marking shelf pin runs, or measuring parts on a bench without wanting to flip the tape around.

The True32 marking system is the main reason a cabinet guy or shop user will care about this version. It was designed specifically for work based on the European 32 mm system, which is common in casework and hardware layout. When your workflow depends on repeating the same spacing over and over, a tape built around that system is faster and more reliable than doing the math yourself every time.

FastCap also adds a handful of practical features that are easy to dismiss until you use them. The erasable note pad gives you a quick place to write dimensions without hunting for scrap paper. The built-in pencil sharpener keeps a layout pencil ready. The lever clip is easier on pockets and belts than a typical stiff steel clip, and the dual locking setup gives you both a standard slide lock and an extra brake-style control for better tape management.

From a build standpoint, the tape uses a steel blade with a clear coating and an overmolded rubber-grip case. The blade width is 1 inch, and the automatic rewind design keeps it quick in and out for repeated layout tasks. At 5 m in length, it is a smart size for cabinet work, trim shops, furniture projects, and interior measuring where a smaller, easier-carry tape is usually more useful than a large framing tape.

This is not trying to be a generic jobsite tape for every trade. It is a better fit for users who work in metric, care about clean layout, and want a tape that matches how they actually build. If you are a cabinet maker, finish carpenter, furniture builder, millwork installer, or serious DIYer working from metric plans, this model makes more sense than a standard imperial tape with metric markings squeezed in as an afterthought.

Pro Tip

If you are laying out shelf pins or cabinet hardware on repeated centers, use the True32 reference marks to keep your spacing consistent instead of measuring each position from scratch. It is faster, and it helps prevent small layout errors from stacking up across a full cabinet side.
