Key Features

Fast Self-Feed Start The SPEED-TIP threaded tip pulls the bit into the wood with less push from the drill. That means quicker starts and less fighting the tool when you need repeated holes. Cleaner Wood Holes An angled spur cutting edge scores the wood before the paddle clears material. The result is a cleaner hole with reduced blowout in softwood, hardwood, and plywood. Built for Drill Drivers This Diablo spade bit is made for corded and cordless drills and impact drivers. The hex shank improves grip in the chuck and adds durability when you are boring hole after hole.

Overview

Diablo DSP2130 1-in. x 6-in. Spade Bit for Wood is a single 1 inch spade bit built for fast, clean wood drilling with corded or cordless drill drivers and impact drivers. This is a spade bit designed for fast, clean hole drilling in wood. Model Number: DSP2130. If you are roughing in wiring, plumbing, or general framing work and need a full-size hole without wasting time, this bit is set up to move quickly.

The big advantage here is Diablo's SPEED-TIP self-feed design. Instead of forcing the bit through the material, the threaded tip helps pull it in with less pressure from the user. That matters when you are drilling repeated holes through studs, joists, or blocking because it cuts down on fatigue and helps keep the hole start more controlled.

Diablo also uses an optimized curved paddle design to improve chip removal. In plain terms, the bit clears wood chips faster so it keeps cutting instead of packing up and slowing down. For cordless users, that is a practical benefit because efficient chip ejection means you can get more holes per charge and spend less time backing the bit out to clear debris.

The cutting edge is designed to score the wood for a cleaner result. The angled spur cutting edge helps reduce blowout compared to a basic flat paddle profile, which is useful when the hole quality matters and you do not want the exit side torn up more than it needs to be. For electricians, remodelers, and framers drilling through clean lumber, that is the kind of detail that saves cleanup and rework.

On the durability side, Diablo rates this bit as Impact Strong for added shank stability and toughness. The bit uses a hex shank and is intended for use in both standard drill drivers and impact drivers. That gives you flexibility on the jobsite, especially if you are switching between tools depending on access, speed, or how much control you want.

Material and size are straightforward and useful. This bit is made from high speed steel, measures 1 inch in diameter, and has a 6 inch overall length with a listed drilling depth of 6 inches. That makes it a practical choice for common wood boring tasks where you need a larger through-hole but do not need an auger bit or hole saw.

Compatibility is another strong point. The hex shank design works with corded and cordless drills, and supplementary data lists a minimum chuck size requirement of 1/4 inch. If your work involves wood framing, rough carpentry, plywood, or general jobsite boring, this bit fits right into a normal drill setup without any special adapter.

Who should buy it? This bit makes the most sense for contractors and serious DIY users who need a simple, fast wood-boring solution in a common 1 inch size. If you drill occasional pass-through holes in studs or clean lumber and want something quicker and cleaner than a bargain-bin paddle bit, this is the right kind of upgrade.

Drill Faster Through Clean Wood

This bit is made for real jobsite wood boring, not slow, fussy drilling. The self-feeding tip and chip-clearing paddle shape help you get through studs and clean lumber with less effort from the tool and the user.
