Key Features

Fast Masonry Cuts The segmented turbo rim is built to cut concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, block, and pavers with less bogging down. That means quicker passes and less time leaning on the grinder. Longer Disc Life Diablo uses taller diamond segments, industrial-grade diamonds, and a durable bond to help this cut-off disc last up to 4 times longer than standard diamond discs. Fewer disc changes means less downtime on the job. X-LOCK Convenience The Diablo DDX045SET101C diamond cut-off disc snaps onto X-LOCK angle grinders without extra hardware, and it still works with standard 7/8 inch arbor grinders. That gives you quick swaps without giving up compatibility.

Overview

The Diablo DDX045SET101C 4-1/2 Inch Diamond Segmented Turbo Masonry Cut-Off with X-LOCK Arbor is a masonry cut-off disc built for angle grinders. This is a diamond segmented turbo masonry cut-off disc designed for cutting concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, block, and pavers. Model Number: DDX045SET101C. If you need a 4-1/2 inch grinder disc that can handle hard masonry material without burning through consumables too quickly, this is the kind of accessory worth stepping up to.

What matters here is how the disc is put together. Diablo calls out segments that are 60% taller than standard options, and that matters because more usable segment height generally means more total cutting life before the disc is spent. Combined with industrial-grade diamonds and a durable bond to the disc body, this blade is built for repeated masonry cutting instead of short-life throwaway work.

The segmented turbo rim design is aimed at two things contractors care about: speed and durability. The segmented layout helps clear debris and stay aggressive in dense material, while the turbo-style geometry helps keep the cut moving. Diablo also notes a SPEED-Edge slot design that reduces vibration and helps deliver faster cuts, with claims of up to 30% faster cutting than standard segmented diamond discs. On a grinder, that translates into cleaner progress through tough material and less fighting the tool.

The hardened disc body is another real-world feature, not fluff. A stronger body helps absorb vibration and improves impact resistance, which is important when you are cutting block, scoring concrete, or dealing with inconsistent material that can load a disc unevenly. Better stability usually means better control, and better control means straighter cuts and less operator fatigue.

This Diablo masonry cut-off disc is rated for both wet and dry use, so it fits a wider range of jobsite setups. Dry cutting is convenient when you are doing quick cuts or working where water is not practical. Wet cutting can help manage heat and extend disc life in repeated heavy work. Either way, the disc is built for masonry applications, not general-purpose metal cutting, so you are using the right accessory for the material in front of you.

Compatibility is a strong point. The X-LOCK arbor gives you tool-free mounting on X-LOCK angle grinders, which speeds up disc changes and cuts down on the hassle of flanges and lock nuts. At the same time, it is backward compatible with standard 7/8 inch arbor angle grinders, so you are not locked into one platform. That makes it a practical buy whether your shop is already on X-LOCK or you are still running conventional grinders.

With a 4-1/2 inch diameter, 0.04 inch blade thickness, and a maximum speed rating of 13,280 RPM, this disc is sized for common compact angle grinder work. It is a good fit for masons, remodelers, general contractors, concrete crews, and serious DIY users who need a reliable masonry cutting wheel for small to mid-size cutting tasks. If your work regularly involves trimming block, cutting brick, chasing joints, or making quick concrete cuts with an angle grinder, this is the right category of accessory.
