Key Features

Built for Thick Metal This blade is made for cutting stainless steel, steel studs, angle iron, flat bar, threaded rod, pipe, and conduit with a dedicated low RPM metal saw. That means cleaner, more controlled metal cutting without reaching for abrasive discs. Cermet Tooth Life Cermet II teeth are built to handle heat and wear better than standard carbide metal cutting blades. Fewer blade changes means less downtime when you are working through repeated cuts in steel. Cooler, Straighter Cuts The thin kerf body, laser cut stabilizer vents, and Perma-SHIELD coating work together to reduce heat, vibration, and noise. The payoff is better tracking, less effort in the cut, and a finish that needs less cleanup.

Overview

Diablo D0842CF 8 in. x 42-Teeth Steel Demon Cermet II Saw Blade for Thick Metal is a metal cutting circular saw blade built for dedicated low RPM metal cutting saws. This is a circular saw blade designed for cutting thick metal and stainless steel with better life, lower heat, and cleaner results than abrasive cutting wheels. Model Number: D0842CF.

The big story here is the Cermet II tooth design. Diablo uses ceramic and metallic tooth material to handle heat and wear more effectively during metal cutting. In practical terms, that means the blade keeps working longer in stainless steel, steel studs, angle iron, flat bar, threaded rod, pipes, tubes, and conduit. Diablo also claims up to 25 times longer life than standard grinding discs, along with cooler cutting and faster work compared to abrasive methods.

This blade uses a 42-tooth layout on an 8 inch blade with a 5/8 inch arbor, and it is rated for a maximum 4,300 RPM. That combination matters because it is meant to run on the right type of saw, not just any general-purpose circular saw. Used on the proper low RPM metal saw, the blade is set up to give you more controlled cuts, reduced sparks, and less burr formation so you spend less time cleaning up the edge afterward.

Diablo built this one with a thin kerf body to reduce cutting resistance and heat build-up. That helps the blade move through metal with less drag, which is especially useful when you are making repeated cuts in stud, channel, or conduit. The laser cut stabilizer vents are there to reduce noise and vibration, which helps the blade stay straighter in the cut and makes the saw feel more settled under load.

There is also some real jobsite practicality in the supporting features. The Perma-SHIELD coating is designed to fight heat build-up, gumming, and corrosion, so the blade holds up better between uses and in rough shop or site conditions. Diablo also uses a tri-metal shock-resistant brazing process to improve tooth durability under impact. If you have ever lost teeth on a metal blade from a rough cut or hard contact, that is not a throwaway feature.

For users who cut a mix of mild steel and stainless steel, this blade solves a common headache by covering both materials with one blade. That makes it a good fit for fabrication work, steel stud framing, electrical rough-in, mechanical installs, and general metal cutting tasks where speed and repeatability matter more than the throwaway nature of abrasive discs.

If you are a contractor or serious DIY user working with a dedicated 8 inch low RPM metal saw, the Diablo D0842CF 8 in. x 42-Teeth Steel Demon Cermet II Saw Blade for Thick Metal is the kind of upgrade that pays back in cut quality and blade life. If you do not have the correct saw platform, this is not the blade to force into the wrong application. Used where it belongs, it is built to save time and keep cuts cleaner.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

Diablo D0842CF 8 in. x 42-Teeth Steel Demon Cermet II Saw Blade for Thick Metal Gets the Job Done Without the Abrasive Wheel Headaches

If you cut steel regularly on the right low RPM saw, this blade is the smarter move for speed, edge quality, and not stopping every few cuts to swap discs.

• Who it's for: Contractors, fabricators, electricians, HVAC techs, and remodelers cutting metal stud, conduit, flat bar, angle iron, pipe, or stainless on a dedicated metal saw.
• Why it stands out: The Cermet II teeth, thin kerf design, anti-vibration vents, and protective coating all work toward longer life and cleaner cuts in real metal cutting work.
• Worth knowing: This is not a universal blade for any saw you have lying around. Match the 8 inch size, 5/8 inch arbor, and low RPM metal saw requirement and it makes a lot more sense.
