Key Features

Built for Fiber Cement This Diablo circular saw blade is made specifically for fiber cement cutting, not general wood cutting. That means cleaner performance in Hardie board and other fiber cement products where standard framing blades wear out fast. PCD Edge Life The polycrystalline diamond tooth design is built for long production runs. Diablo rates it for up to 60 times longer cutting life than standard carbide blades in fiber cement, which means fewer blade changes and less downtime. Fast, Controlled Cuts A thin kerf and anti-vibration design help the blade track smoothly through siding and board stock. You get quicker cuts, less waste, and better control when you are working through larger fiber cement jobs.

Overview

The Diablo D0704DHA 7-1/4 in. x 4 Tooth (PCD) Fiber Cement HardieBlade is a specialty circular saw blade built for cutting fiber cement products, including James Hardie material. This is a fiber cement circular saw blade designed for repeated cutting in siding and board stock where a standard carbide blade would wear down quickly. Model Number: D0704DHA. If you cut fiber cement often, this blade matters because it is made to last through production work instead of treating every job like a disposable blade job.

What sets this blade apart is the polycrystalline diamond tooth construction and 4-tooth triple chip configuration. In practical terms, that means the edge is built for abrasive material. Fiber cement is tough on blades, and this Diablo blade is aimed squarely at that problem. Diablo states the PCD triple chip design delivers up to 60 times longer cutting life than standard carbide blades in fiber cement, so crews doing repeat cuts can spend more time cutting and less time swapping worn blades.

The blade uses a 7-1/4 inch diameter with a 5/8 inch arbor, which makes it a fit for many standard circular saw setups that accept that blade size and arbor combination. The thin kerf design, listed at 0.071 inch, helps the blade move through material with less waste and less drag. That matters when you are knocking out long runs of siding or repetitive cuts on panels and trim pieces, because the saw does not have to fight more blade than necessary.

Diablo also builds this blade with anti-vibration features to help stabilize the cut and reduce noise. On the job, that usually translates to a smoother feel in the saw and less chatter when the blade first enters the material. A stable blade is easier to track on layout lines and easier to control when accuracy matters on visible exterior work.

For fiber cement work, dust control is always part of the conversation. Diablo notes that this HardieBlade is designed to generate up to 50% less respirable dust than comparable conventional options, and the thin kerf plays a role by removing less material during the cut. That does not replace proper dust management, but it does mean this blade is built with real-world fiber cement cutting conditions in mind instead of being just another general-purpose blade with aggressive claims.

This blade is also notable because it is positioned as the only approved James Hardie polycrystalline diamond tipped fiber cement saw blade. If you are a siding installer, remodeler, exterior contractor, or carpenter who works with Hardie products regularly, that approval matters. It gives buyers a clearer answer when they want a blade purpose-built for the material instead of guessing which multipurpose blade will get by.

The Diablo D0704DHA 7-1/4 in. x 4 Tooth (PCD) Fiber Cement HardieBlade is best for pros and serious DIY users doing repeat fiber cement cutting, especially large projects and frequent use. If you only cut a board or two once in a while, a cheaper blade may get you through. If you cut fiber cement every week, this is the kind of blade that earns its keep by lasting longer, cutting cleaner, and being purpose-built for the job.

Diablo D0704DHA 7-1/4 in. x 4 Tooth (PCD) Fiber Cement HardieBlade for crews tired of burning up carbide

This is the blade you buy when fiber cement is a regular part of the week and you want longer life, smoother tracking, and less wasted time changing blades.

• Who it's for: Siding installers, remodelers, and contractors cutting James Hardie or other fiber cement products on a regular basis.
• Why it stands out: PCD teeth, a thin kerf, anti-vibration design, and James Hardie approval make it a purpose-built blade instead of a compromise blade.
• Worth knowing: This is a specialty fiber cement blade. If your work is mostly framing lumber or general trim, you are paying for durability you may not actually need.
