Tight-Space Ratchets The three included 72-tooth ratchets need just a 5-degree swing, so you can keep turning fasteners where a long reset arc would slow you down. 341-Piece Coverage This DEWALT mechanics tool set covers 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch drive work with SAE and metric sizes, so one set handles a wide range of garage and service jobs. Better Fastener Grip DirectTorque technology is built to contact the flats of the fastener more effectively, helping reduce rounding when you are leaning on stubborn hardware.

Overview

The DEWALT DWMT45341 Mechanics Tool Set is a 341-piece hand tool set built for general mechanical service, garage work, and equipment maintenance. This is a mechanics tool set designed for fastening, loosening, and servicing a wide range of SAE and metric hardware. Model Number: DWMT45341. If you want broad socket, ratchet, wrench, hex key, and bit coverage in one organized kit, this set is aimed right at that job.

What makes this set matter is the range. You are not just getting a few ratchets and a handful of sockets. You are getting 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/2 inch drive coverage, combination wrenches, specialty bits, hex keys, extensions, universal joints, spark plug sockets, a spinner handle, and a bit adapter. That gives this mechanics set the flexibility to handle light-duty trim fasteners, everyday vehicle service, and larger hardware without needing to piece together separate kits.

The three included ratchets use a 72-tooth mechanism with a 5-degree arc swing. In plain terms, that means less handle movement is needed to advance the fastener. When you are working around engine bays, under seats, behind panels, or inside equipment housings, that smaller swing can save a lot of frustration. It is the kind of spec that actually matters once you are working in a cramped spot instead of on an open bench.

DEWALT also built this set around fastener engagement and durability. The sockets use DirectTorque technology to increase contact on the flat surface of the fastener, which helps reduce the chance of rounding corners. Knurled control rings improve grip during hand-starting and hand-tightening. Hard stamped markings are easier to read over time than lightly etched markings, especially once the set has seen real shop use. The full polish chrome finish adds corrosion resistance, which matters if the tools live in a garage, service truck, or any place where humidity and grime are part of the deal.

Organization is another strong point here. The tools are housed in three trays, which makes it easier to keep drive sizes and accessory groups separated instead of dumping everything into one deep case. That is useful in a truck box, on a rolling cart, or on a workbench where you want to grab what you need without digging through a pile of sockets. For anyone who has lost time hunting for one missing size, that setup is a real advantage.

This set is a good fit for automotive work, motorcycle service, mower and small engine maintenance, shop support, and general household mechanical tasks. It also makes sense for serious DIY users who want one large mechanics tool kit instead of buying ratchets, sockets, and wrenches piece by piece. If you regularly bounce between SAE and metric fasteners, the mixed measurement coverage is one of the biggest reasons to buy this kit over a smaller set.

Pro Tip

Keep the 1/4 inch drive tray closest to where you work most often. For a lot of dashboard, clamp, and light mechanical work, that smaller drive handles more jobs than people expect and keeps you from over-tightening small fasteners.
