Quick-Change Brace The brace bracket attaches in seconds so you can go from cutting copper pipe back to driving screws without stopping to rework your whole setup. Overview

The DEWALT IMPACT CONNECT Copper Pipe Cutter Attachment, Model Number DWACPRIR, is built for plumbers, remodelers, and service techs who want faster copper pipe cutting without carrying another dedicated power tool. This is a copper pipe cutter attachment designed for cutting copper pipe with a compatible impact driver. Instead of reaching for a manual tubing cutter on every cut, this attachment lets you use the tool you already keep on your belt.

What makes this setup matter on the job is speed and effort reduction. DEWALT rates it for up to 4 times faster cuts than a hand tool, and the design is meant to reduce the physical effort needed for repeated cuts through Type K, L, and M copper pipe. If you are doing rough-in, repair work, or repipe jobs where the cuts add up all day, that means less hand fatigue and less wasted time.

The quick-change brace system is one of the smarter parts of the design. You can mount the attachment to a compatible impact driver in seconds, cut your pipe, then get back to driving fasteners without dragging around a separate cordless cutter. For techs moving room to room or floor to floor, that kind of workflow improvement is the whole point. It saves space in the bag and saves tool changes during the day.

DEWALT also built this attachment around practical access. The 1/4 inch hex shank fits compatible impact drivers, while the 360 degree swivel helps you work around pipe where a straight, fixed approach would be clumsy. In real-world plumbing work, not every cut is out in the open. You are often dealing with tight bays, cabinet backs, crawlspace angles, and stub-outs close to finished surfaces. That swivel is there for a reason.

Cut capacity is another important detail. DEWALT lists a maximum cut capacity of up to 1 inch, with 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch cutting wheels included and a 1 inch cutting wheel sold separately. That makes this a strong fit for the copper sizes you see constantly on residential service and remodeling work, while still giving you a path to larger 1 inch cuts when needed.

Compatibility is broad enough to make this useful even if your truck is not all yellow. The DEWALT IMPACT CONNECT Copper Pipe Cutter Attachment is designed to work with select DEWALT 20V MAX and other pro-grade 18V impact drivers. DEWALT specifically optimizes it around several of its own impact drivers, including DCF787, DCF809, DCF840, DCF850, DCF885, DCF887, and DCF888, and also lists compatibility across several other pro brands.

As for build and intended use, this is not a general-purpose cutting attachment for every material. It is purpose-built for copper pipe, and that is exactly why it makes sense. The cutting system is designed around clean, efficient copper cuts, not making you force a universal tool into a plumbing task it was not made for. If copper work is part of your weekly routine, this is a more practical solution than a gimmick attachment that tries to do everything.

Who should buy it? If you are a plumber, HVAC installer, maintenance tech, or serious remodeler already running compatible impact drivers, this attachment earns its keep fast. It is especially useful for service work and remodel jobs where portability matters and cut counts are high. If you rarely touch copper pipe, a manual cutter may still be enough. If copper cutting is regular work, this attachment is the faster, easier play.
