Key Features

Folds Down Fast The folding hinge cuts stored length by 40%, so this trimmer is easier to fit on a shelf, in a truck, or in a crowded garage. 14-Inch Cutting Path The wide 14-inch swath covers more grass in each pass, which helps the DEWALT string trimmer move quicker along fence lines, walls, and open edges. Runtime Control The variable-speed trigger and Hi/Lo switch let you back off power for lighter cleanup or step it up when the grass gets thick.

Overview

The DEWALT DCST922P1 20V MAX 14-in Brushless Cordless Folding String Trimmer Kit is a cordless string trimmer built for routine yard cleanup, edge work, and trimming around obstacles. This is a string trimmer designed for grass and light overgrowth control around homes and properties. Model Number: DCST922P1. If you want a battery-powered trimmer that stores easier than a full-length unit and still gives you a useful cutting path, this is the point of this kit.

The big selling feature is the folding hinge. DEWALT says it reduces the overall length by 40% when folded, which matters if you keep outdoor power tools in a tight garage, shed, trailer, or service vehicle. That folding design also makes the trimmer easier to carry from one job area to another without fighting the full shaft length every time.

On the cutting side, the 14-inch swath gives you enough coverage to clear larger sections without making the tool bulky. It uses DEWALT 0.080-inch line and a QuickLoad spool, so line replacement is less of a project when you burn through spool during regular trimming. The bump-feed line advance system is familiar, simple, and easy to manage in day-to-day use.

The brushless motor is there for efficiency and durability, not just spec-sheet talk. Paired with the variable-speed trigger and the Hi/Lo speed control switch, it gives you a useful way to balance power and runtime. Run low speed for touch-up passes and lighter grass. Step up when you are cutting thicker patches or cleaning along hard edges where the trimmer has to work harder.

This kit is part of the DEWALT 20V MAX battery platform and includes one 5.0Ah battery and charger, so you can get to work without buying into the system separately. That also makes it a solid fit for existing DEWALT 20V MAX users who want another outdoor tool that shares batteries with drills, drivers, lights, and other cordless equipment in the same platform.

Jobsite practicality is strong here for a residential-focused cordless string trimmer. It is battery powered, starts electrically, and avoids the maintenance and storage headaches that come with gas units. The straight shaft helps with reach along foundations, fences, and around landscaping. At 8.62 lbs, it stays in the manageable range for extended trimming sessions.

This DEWALT cordless string trimmer kit makes the most sense for homeowners, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users who want easy storage, quick setup, and solid trimming performance without jumping to a heavier gas machine. If your priority is a compact cordless trimmer that still covers ground efficiently, this one checks the right boxes.

Trim More, Store Easier

Keep Control in Thick Spots
