Fast Work, Less WaitingWith up to 450 RPM, this cordless ratchet runs fasteners down quickly so you spend less time spinning bolts by hand in cramped spots. Three Anvil OptionsThe interchangeable anvil design lets you switch between 3/8 in. square drive, 1/4 in. square drive, and 1/4 in. low-profile hex so one tool covers more fastening jobs. Sealed Head AccessThe sealed-head ratchet design helps the DeWALT DCF520GE1 get into tighter spaces while keeping the forward and reverse control easy to reach.

Overview

The DeWALT DCF520GE1 20V MAX XR Brushless 1/4 in. & 3/8 in. Sealed Head Ratchet Kit is built for mechanics, maintenance techs, installers, and serious DIY users who need powered fastening in places where a standard ratchet swing is limited. This is a cordless sealed head ratchet designed for tightening and removing fasteners in tight spaces. Model Number: DCF520GE1. The big selling point here is simple: it saves time on repetitive fastening while still fitting where bulkier tools do not.

On paper, the numbers are strong where they need to be. DeWALT rates this ratchet at up to 450 RPM no-load speed and up to 50 ft-lbs. of max torque. In real use, that means it is built to move hardware quickly once the fastener is free, and it has enough muscle for a wide range of automotive, maintenance, and assembly work. It is not pretending to be an impact wrench. It is a speed and access tool, and those two things matter a lot when you are working under a hood, behind equipment panels, or inside cabinets.

One of the smartest parts of this kit is the interchangeable anvil setup. You are not locked into one drive size. DeWALT includes a 3/8 in. square drive anvil, a 1/4 in. square drive anvil, and a 1/4 in. low-profile hex anvil. That gives this ratchet more range than a typical single-drive cordless ratchet. If your work moves between sockets and hex accessories, that flexibility can keep another tool out of the bag.

The sealed-head layout is another practical upgrade. A sealed head helps with durability in dirty work environments, and the compact head style improves access where clearance is tight. DeWALT also calls out easy access to the forward and reverse switch, which matters more than it sounds like. When you are working one-handed in an awkward position, small control details are the difference between getting the job done cleanly and fighting the tool.

This XR ratchet also uses a brushless motor, which is the right call for a tool like this. Brushless design helps with efficiency, runtime, and long-term wear compared to brushed designs. The built-in LED helps when you are working inside engine bays, under sinks, behind appliances, or anywhere the shop lights do not reach. There is also an integrated trigger lock, which is useful when the tool rides in a bag or gets moved around a busy jobsite or service truck.

As a kit, the DCF520GE1 is ready to work out of the box. It includes one 20V MAX XR 1.7Ah oil-resistant compact battery, a charger, and a kit bag. That compact battery choice makes sense on a ratchet because it helps keep the tool smaller and easier to balance. This ratchet is part of the DeWALT 20V MAX system, so it fits into a battery platform a lot of pros already own.

Who should buy it? If you do automotive service, fleet maintenance, mechanical work, equipment repair, appliance service, or general fastening in confined spaces, this tool makes a strong case for itself. If your work is mostly breaking loose large rusted hardware, you will still want a stronger tool for that first hit. But if you want a fast, versatile cordless ratchet that covers multiple drive formats and comes as a ready-to-run kit, this one is a well-thought-out setup.

Fasten Faster in Tight Spots

This ratchet is built for the kind of work where a normal hand ratchet gets old fast. The sealed head and compact front end help you reach fasteners where clearance is limited, then the motor takes over to speed through the repetitive part.

• Up to 450 RPM no-load speed for quicker run-down and removal
• Sealed-head design helps with access in confined areas

One Ratchet, More Jobs

The interchangeable anvil setup is what separates this kit from a basic cordless ratchet. You can move between common square drive socket work and low-profile hex fastening without changing tools completely.

• Includes 3/8 in. square drive, 1/4 in. square drive, and 1/4 in. low-profile hex anvils
• Useful for service, assembly, equipment maintenance, and general repair work

Built for Daily Use

DeWALT added the details that matter on a real job: a brushless motor for efficiency, an LED for poor lighting, and a trigger lock to help prevent accidental starts when the tool is stored or carried.

• Brushless motor supports runtime and long-term durability
• Built-in LED and trigger lock improve jobsite practicality

Pro Tip

Use the ratchet the way pros do: crack stubborn fasteners loose by hand first, then let the DCF520GE1 do the spinning. That gets you the speed advantage without asking a cordless ratchet to do the job of a breaker bar.

Tool Nut's Take

DeWALT DCF520GE1 20V MAX XR Brushless 1/4 in. & 3/8 in. Sealed Head Ratchet That Actually Earns Space in the Bag

This is the kind of cordless ratchet that makes sense the minute you start working in places where a full hand-ratchet swing just is not happening.

• Who it's for: Techs, mechanics, maintenance crews, and hands-on DIY users who need faster fastening in tight engine bays, equipment panels, and general repair work.
• Why it stands out: The 450 RPM speed, 50 ft-lbs. max torque, and three included anvil options give it more range than a one-size ratchet.
• Worth knowing: This is a kit with battery, charger, and bag, but it is still a ratchet first. For badly seized hardware, break it loose first and then let the tool save your wrists.
