Overview

The DeWALT DCF514EB ATOMIC 20V MAX Brushless Cordless 1/4-in. Extended Reach Ratchet, Tool Only is built for mechanics, maintenance techs, and anyone who spends too much time fighting fasteners in cramped spots. This is a cordless ratchet designed for fastening and loosening bolts and nuts in tight-access areas. Model Number: DCF514EB. If you need powered ratcheting action without giving up reach, this is the tool that fills that gap.

What matters most here is the combination of reach, speed, and usable torque. The long neck design and low-profile head help you get down past hoses, brackets, and other obstructions where a standard cordless ratchet can come up short. With up to 250 RPM no-load speed and up to 45 ft-lbs. of max torque, it is set up to remove stubborn fasteners faster than working by hand while still giving you the control you need for tighter mechanical work.

The brushless motor is a big part of why this ratchet makes sense for regular shop use. Brushless tools are generally the right call when you want compact size without giving away performance, and that is exactly the point of DeWALT's ATOMIC line. This extended reach ratchet is meant to stay maneuverable while still delivering enough output for demanding jobs. The variable speed trigger also helps because you can ease into a fastener instead of hitting everything at one speed, which is useful when you're starting threads or working around delicate assemblies.

DeWALT also paid attention to the parts you notice after a long day of use. The forward and reverse switch is designed so it is easier to change direction with greasy hands or while wearing gloves. That sounds small until you are under a vehicle or wedged into equipment and do not want to stop and reposition. The built-in LED adds another practical touch by throwing light directly onto the work surface, which helps when the fastener is buried in a dark bay or behind a component.

For rough service environments, the glass-filled nylon housing matters. DeWALT calls out resistance to harsh fluids, chemicals, and solvents, which makes this a more realistic fit for automotive bays, maintenance departments, and industrial settings where tools do not stay clean for long. The trigger lock is another useful jobsite feature because it helps prevent accidental activation when the tool is being moved, stored, or carried between tasks.

Battery platform is straightforward. This bare tool is part of the DeWALT 20V MAX system, so it is meant for users already running that platform or planning to. Batteries and charger are sold separately, but for current DeWALT users that can be a plus because you are not paying again for packs you already own. If your work regularly involves engine compartments, machinery service, maintenance fastening, or hard-to-reach hardware, this extended reach ratchet is a smarter choice than a standard compact ratchet. If all your fasteners are out in the open, you may not need the extra neck length. But if access is the problem, that is exactly what this tool is built to solve.

Reach Fasteners Standard Ratchets Miss

The whole reason to buy an extended reach ratchet is access, and this one is built around that idea. The long neck helps you work past obstructions and get onto hardware without dropping back to a hand ratchet.

• Long neck design for difficult-to-reach fasteners
• Low-profile head helps in tighter spaces

Balanced Speed and Torque for Mechanical Work

This cordless ratchet is not just about getting in there. It also gives you enough output to keep work moving when fasteners are stubborn but space is limited.

• Up to 250 RPM no-load speed
• Up to 45 ft-lbs. of max torque

Built for Real Shop Conditions

When a tool is going into an automotive bay or maintenance cart, durability and handling matter just as much as torque. DeWALT calls out the features that make this one easier to live with day to day.

• Glass-filled nylon housing helps resist harsh fluids, chemicals, and solvents
• Easy-access forward and reverse switch, trigger lock, and built-in LED
