Three 12.0Ah Packs This DeWALT FlexVolt battery 3-pack gives you 36 amp hours of total capacity, enough to keep one pack working, one charging, and one in reserve on a long day. 20V, 60V, and 120V MAX Each pack switches voltage automatically to match the tool, and two of them combine to run 120V MAX tools, with the third ready as a spare. Charge Status at a Glance A 3-LED fuel gauge on every pack tells you which battery to grab before you start a cut or climb a ladder.

Overview

The DeWALT DCB612 20V/60V MAX FlexVolt 12.0Ah Battery, 3-Pack bundles three of DeWALT's 12.0Ah FlexVolt lithium-ion packs for crews and contractors running high-draw cordless tools all day. This is a cordless power tool battery set designed for long runtime across DeWALT 20V MAX, 60V MAX, and 120V MAX tools. Model Number DCB612-3x. Each pack is the same battery sold individually as the DeWALT DCB612 FlexVolt 12.0Ah battery.

FlexVolt packs change voltage automatically when you move them between tools. In a 20V MAX tool, the pack runs at 20V with the full 12.0Ah of capacity, and DeWALT rates it for up to 6X the runtime of its 1.5Ah 20V MAX pack. In a 60V MAX tool, the same battery supplies the higher voltage those saws, grinders, and outdoor tools need. Nominal voltage is 18V, 54V, and 108V respectively.

The 3-pack makes the most sense on 120V MAX tools. DeWALT's 120V MAX rating is based on two 60V MAX batteries working together, so a single 120V MAX tool needs two packs installed to run at all. With three in hand, you run the tool on two and have a full spare ready to swap or rotate through the charger. On the heavier DeWALT FlexVolt 60V MAX tools, three packs means one in the tool, one on the charger, and one waiting.

DeWALT built the DCB612 to work in cold weather, rated to operate in outside temperatures down to 0F (-18C). That matters for framing, concrete, and site work through winter, when lithium packs tend to lose punch. Each pack carries a 3-LED fuel gauge, so you can check charge without putting it in a tool.

Charging uses the chargers you already have. DeWALT lists the DCB612 as compatible with all 20V MAX chargers. For a three-pack setup, a multiport charger such as the DeWALT DCB1404 4-battery multiport charger charges all three packs at once instead of one at a time.

Physically, a 12.0Ah FlexVolt is the same footprint as DeWALT's 9.0Ah FlexVolt, but it is a big pack. On a compact drill or impact driver, it adds noticeable weight and bulk. It earns its keep on saws, grinders, rotary hammers, and outdoor equipment where runtime matters more than balance.

Who should buy it? Contractors and crews running 60V MAX or 120V MAX tools, landscapers on FlexVolt outdoor equipment, and anyone whose day stalls waiting on batteries. If you mostly run compact 20V MAX tools, smaller packs will be lighter and easier to handle.

One Battery Across Three Voltages

Every pack in this set moves between DeWALT tool classes without adapters. The battery reads the tool and sets its own voltage.

• 20V MAX tools: 12.0Ah capacity for long runtime
• 60V MAX tools: higher voltage for high-demand saws and grinders
• 120V MAX tools: two packs combined

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

The DeWALT DCB612 FlexVolt 12.0Ah 3-Pack Is Built for 120V MAX Owners

Two packs run your 120V MAX tool and the third keeps you from waiting on the charger.

• Who it's for: Crews running 60V MAX and 120V MAX saws, grinders, and outdoor tools all day.
• Why it stands out: Three of DeWALT's high-capacity FlexVolt packs, each working across 20V, 60V, and 120V MAX tools.
• Worth knowing: These are big, heavy packs. On a compact drill or driver, a smaller battery will feel much better.
