Deep Reach Access The deep socket design gives you the reach you need on longer studs and recessed fasteners, so you spend less time fighting for engagement. 6-Point Grip This DEWALT deep socket uses a 6-point opening with Direct Torque Technology to help reduce fastener rounding when you are putting real force on stubborn hardware. Easy to Handle A knurled control ring adds grip when your hands are oily or gloved, and hard-stamped markings stay readable longer than light etching.

Overview

The DEWALT DWMT88990OSP 6 Point 3/8'' Drive Deep Socket 11/16'' SAE is a single SAE deep socket built for turning 11/16 inch fasteners with a 3/8 inch drive ratchet or socket wrench. This is a deep socket designed for fastening and removal work where extra reach matters. Model Number: DWMT88990OSP. It is a practical fit for mechanics, maintenance work, equipment service, and general shop use where standard-depth sockets can come up short.

The main reason to buy this socket is simple: access and grip. The deep body helps you get over longer bolts and threaded studs, while the 6-point opening gives fuller contact on the flats of the fastener than a 12-point style. That matters when you are dealing with hardware that is already worn, tight, or exposed to corrosion. DEWALT also calls out Direct Torque Technology, which is meant to help reduce rounding during higher-torque work.

On the handling side, this socket has a knurled control ring that makes it easier to pick up, start on a fastener, and remove from a tray or drawer. That sounds like a small detail until you are working with greasy hands or gloves. The chamfered open end also helps guide the socket onto the nut or bolt faster, which saves time when you are repeating the same task across multiple fasteners.

The finish and markings are geared toward regular use. The polished chrome vanadium construction is there for durability and corrosion resistance, while the hard-stamped size markings are easier to keep track of over time than markings that wear off quickly. For a socket, clear identification matters because it cuts down on wasted time hunting through a box when you need the right size now.

This DEWALT socket is not a specialty piece meant to sit in the bottom of a drawer. It is a straightforward hand tool for anyone who uses a 3/8 inch drive system and wants an SAE deep socket that can handle real day-to-day service work. If you work on vehicles, machinery, small engines, shop fixtures, or home projects that use inch-based hardware, this size and format make sense as part of a core socket lineup.

Who should buy it? Anyone filling out a 3/8 inch drive socket set, replacing a lost 11/16 inch socket, or adding more reach for nuts on extended threads. If you mainly work in automotive, maintenance, farm, or garage settings, a deep socket like this earns its spot quickly. If you need one specific size instead of a full set, this single-piece format keeps it simple.

Reach Fasteners a Standard Socket Cannot

A deep socket is the right call when a regular socket bottoms out before it reaches the fastener. This one is built for 11/16 inch SAE hardware and gives you the extra clearance needed on longer studs and recessed nuts.

• 3/8 inch drive fits common ratchets and hand socket tools
• 11/16 inch SAE size for inch-based fasteners
• 6-point opening gives stronger contact on the fastener flats
