Key Features

Half Inch Drive Built for tools that use a 1/2 inch square drive. That makes this socket a practical fit for higher-torque ratchets and breaker bars when smaller drive sizes start to feel undersized. Chrome Vanadium Build The chrome vanadium steel construction is there for one reason: strength and durability. If this socket is going in a real working box instead of a junk drawer, that matters. Better Grip Knurled beauty rings help reduce hand slippage when you're grabbing the socket with oily or dirty hands. Small detail, but it makes quick changes easier at the bench or on the job.

Overview

The DeWalt DWMT86519OSP Mechanics 6 Point 1/2 Inch Drive Socket 19 MM is a single metric socket made for fastening and loosening 19 mm hardware. This is a socket designed for mechanical fastening with a 1/2 inch drive ratchet, breaker bar, or similar hand tool. Model Number: DWMT86519OSP. If you need a straightforward metric socket for regular shop use, this is the size-specific piece you keep within easy reach.

The 6-point design matters because it gives the socket a more secure hold on the flats of the fastener compared to a general-purpose multi-point style. That is especially useful when you're leaning on stuck bolts or working with hardware that has already seen some wear. For anyone building out a mechanic's socket setup one size at a time, a dedicated 19 mm 6-point socket is a staple.

DeWalt builds this socket from premium chrome vanadium steel, which is the right material choice for strength and long-term durability in a hand tool application. It is meant to take repeated use in a toolbox, service cart, or garage drawer without feeling disposable. This is not a gimmick piece or an oversized kit filler. It is a single working socket for a common metric fastener size.

One practical detail here is the knurled beauty ring. That texture helps reduce hand slippage when you're pulling the socket from a tray, swapping sizes at the ratchet, or working with greasy hands. It is a simple feature, but the kind of thing you notice when you're actually using the tool instead of just reading the spec sheet.

This DeWalt socket uses a 1/2 inch drive interface, so it fits standard 1/2 inch drive ratchets and related drive tools. The socket size is marked in millimeters, and this specific version is 19 mm, which makes it a direct fit for metric applications where you want the correct size instead of making do with a close SAE option.

Who should buy it? Mechanics, automotive DIYers, equipment owners, and tradespeople who want to replace a missing socket or round out a metric socket collection with a common working size. If you already have a 1/2 inch drive setup and need a durable 19 mm socket with a 6-point opening, this is the no-nonsense pick.

Pro Tip

A 19 mm socket is close enough to a few nearby sizes that people sometimes force a near match. Don't. If the fastener is metric, use the exact 19 mm socket and the 6-point opening will do a much better job protecting the corners under load.
