Overview

This is a 24-inch adjustable pry bar with an integrated nail puller, built for prying up decking, framing, and larger boards while also pulling the fasteners holding them down. The Crescent 24-in. Adjustable Pry Bar with Nail Puller (Model DB24-07) pairs a clamping, adjustable jaw with a nail-puller slot and two raised striking surfaces on the opposite end, so one bar handles both the lifting and the fastener removal on bigger demolition jobs.

The extra length over Crescent's 16-inch version is the whole story here 24 inches gives you significantly more leverage, which matters when you're prying up full deck boards, stuck subfloor sheathing, or framing lumber that a shorter bar can't move without a fight. The adjustable jaw still does the same job as the shorter bar: it slides open and clamps onto the material, giving you a mechanical grip point instead of relying on friction against a smooth or painted surface.

Construction is heat-treated forged alloy steel with a powder paint finish over a phosphate coating, built for corrosion resistance on outdoor deck and exterior demolition work. The two raised striking surfaces are positioned to take direct hammer or mallet blows when you need to drive the jaw or nail puller into position, and precision-ground edges are shaped to reduce damage to material you're trying to keep usable. The dual-material orange and black grip is there for control when you're leaning your full weight into the bar.

At 24 inches, this is the longer, higher-leverage option in Crescent's adjustable pry bar line, sized for full deck tear-offs, subfloor removal, and framing demolition where a 16-inch bar runs out of leverage. For tighter interior spaces where 24 inches is too much bar, Crescent's 16-inch adjustable pry bar (DB16-07) covers that ground instead.

This is the pick for deck builders, framers, and general contractors doing full board or subfloor removal, and for serious DIYers taking on a deck rebuild or structural demolition project where leverage matters more than maneuverability.

Leverage for Bigger Boards

Full deck boards, subfloor sheathing, and framing lumber take more leverage than a short bar can deliver. The extra 24 inches of length turns effort into lift without you having to fight the material.

• 24 inches of length for high-leverage prying
• Adjustable jaw clamps onto boards and decking
• Two raised striking surfaces for hammer or mallet use

Built for Outdoor Demolition

Deck tear-offs and exterior demolition mean weather exposure and repeated hard use. The phosphate-coated powder finish and dual-material grip are built to keep working through both.

• Powder paint finish over phosphate coating resists corrosion
• Dual-material grip keeps hands in control under heavy load
• Nail puller slot on the opposite end from the adjustable jaw

Pro Tip

On full deck board removal, clamp the adjustable jaw near a joist rather than mid-span you'll get a solid pivot point and the board will come up straighter with less splintering.

The Long Bar for When 16 Inches Isn't Enough Leverage

The Crescent 24-in. Adjustable Pry Bar with Nail Puller is the leverage upgrade for full deck tear-offs and bigger demolition, without giving up the clamping jaw and built-in nail puller.

• Who it's for: Deck builders, framers, and contractors doing full board, subfloor, or framing removal where a shorter bar can't generate enough force.
• Why it stands out: The extra 8 inches over the 16-inch model is a real difference in leverage, not just a spec sheet number it shows up in how easily stubborn boards come loose.
• Worth knowing: 24 inches is a lot of bar for tight interior spaces if you're working closets, crawlspaces, or cabinetry, Crescent's 16-inch version (DB16-07) will maneuver better.

Common Questions

• How much more leverage does the 24-inch bar give over the 16-inch version? The added length increases the mechanical leverage you can apply, which makes a noticeable difference on full deck boards, subfloor, and framing lumber that resist a shorter bar.
• Can the adjustable jaw handle decking boards? Yes, the jaw slides open and clamps onto boards and decking material, giving you a mechanical grip point for lifting.
• Is this pry bar rated for outdoor use? Yes. The powder paint finish over a phosphate coating is built for corrosion resistance in outdoor and exterior demolition conditions.
