Key Features

Made for DF700 Built for Festool DF700 Domino joiners, this bit cuts the 10 mm mortise size used for larger loose-tenon joinery. That matters when you're building bigger doors, tables, benches, and casework parts that need more holding power. Center-Point Control The center-point tip and 2-flute spiral layout help the bit start cleanly and track where it should. You get better control at plunge-in and a cleaner slot in solid wood and wood composites. PTFE-Coated Body The black PTFE coating helps reduce residue buildup and heat. That means smoother cutting over longer runs and less time stopping to clean the bit.

Overview

The CMT 380.101.11 Domino joiner bit is a 10 mm replacement cutter made for Festool DF700 machines. This is a router bit designed for cutting Domino mortises for loose-tenon wood joinery. Model Number: 380.101.11. If you run a Domino XL and need the larger mortise size for furniture parts, doors, frames, or structural-style wood connections, this is the bit that handles that job.

What matters here is fit and cut quality. This bit is sized for a 3/8" (10 mm) cutting diameter and uses a center-point tip with a 2-flute spiral design. On the job, that means it starts more deliberately, pulls chips out of the cut more effectively, and helps leave a clean mortise wall instead of a ragged slot. The listed 2.756 inch cutting length gives you the reach needed for the deeper plunges associated with larger Domino joinery.

CMT built this bit with a black PTFE coating to help reduce pitch and debris buildup while keeping heat more under control during repeated cuts. That is a practical feature, not fluff. In hardwoods and sheet goods, buildup on a joiner bit can change cut quality fast. A coated bit stays cleaner longer, which helps keep your mortises consistent and saves time between cleanups.

The overall length is 3.543 inches, and the bit uses an M8x1 shank connection for the intended machine setup. That makes this a purpose-built accessory, not a general router bit you try to adapt. It is meant for Domino work on a Festool DF700, where proper fit, reliable plunge performance, and repeatable mortise sizing matter more than anything else.

As for materials, it is made for use in solid wood and wood composites. That puts this bit right where it belongs in cabinet shops, furniture work, door construction, and serious trim or built-in projects that rely on strong alignment and joint strength. If you are cutting larger loose-tenon mortises regularly, using the correct Domino joiner bit is the difference between repeatable joinery and wasted stock.

Who should buy it? Woodworkers, cabinetmakers, finish carpenters, and anyone already invested in the Festool Domino XL platform. If you do not own a DF700, this is not the accessory for you. If you do, and you need the 3/8" (10 mm) size for larger joinery, this CMT replacement bit is a straightforward way to keep the machine working without compromise.

Purpose-Built for Larger Domino Joinery

This bit is all about cutting the right mortise size for larger loose-tenon joints. When the work moves beyond small face frames and into doors, tables, benches, and heavier assemblies, the 3/8" (10 mm) size gives you the joinery capacity you need.

• 3/8" (10 mm) cutting diameter for larger Domino mortises
• Designed for solid wood and wood composite materials
• Intended for Festool DF700 Domino joiners

Clean Starts and Smoother Cutting

The center-point tip helps the bit start where it should, while the spiral flute layout is there to cut cleanly and manage chips through the plunge. Add the PTFE coating, and you get a bit that is better suited for repeated joinery work without loading up as fast.

• Center-point style tip for controlled entry
• 2 cutting edges and 2 spiral flutes
• Black PTFE coating helps reduce buildup and heat

Pro Tip

If you are swapping between Domino sizes on a DF700, keep a dedicated bit for each common setup and check for resin buildup before critical glue-ups. A clean 10 mm bit helps the machine hold mortise size more consistently, especially in hardwood.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

CMT 380.101.11 Domino Joiner Bit is the right call when your DF700 is doing real joinery work

This is a specialized accessory, but for the right machine and the right work, it is exactly what you want: proper fit, clean mortises, and less nonsense from heat and buildup.

• Who it's for: DF700 owners doing furniture, door, cabinet, and other larger loose-tenon joinery.
• Why it stands out: The 3/8" (10 mm) size, center-point tip, spiral flute design, and PTFE coating all serve one purpose: cleaner, more repeatable mortises.
• Worth knowing: This is not a general-purpose router bit. It is a machine-specific Domino joiner bit, so compatibility matters before you buy.
