Jaws Stay PutThe proprietary adjustment screw is built so the jaws do not back off while you work. That means fewer mid-task readjustments when you are turning hardware under load. Parallel Jaw GripParallel jaws help the wrench hold fast without slipping and are less likely to mark finished surfaces. That matters when you are working on visible hardware, plumbing trim, or installed equipment. Two Sizes ReadyThis Milwaukee 48-22-7400 adjustable wrench set gives you both 6 inch and 10 inch coverage in one kit. You can keep the smaller wrench for tighter spots and grab the larger one when you need more reach and jaw capacity.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-22-7400 Adjustable Wrench Set is a 2-piece hand tool set built for gripping and turning nuts, bolts, and fittings across a wide range of service and installation work. This is an adjustable wrench set designed for fastening, maintenance, and general jobsite service work. Model Number 48-22-7400. If you want one compact set that covers common small and mid-size hardware without filling your bag with extra pieces, this is the kind of set that earns its keep.

What makes this set stand out is how Milwaukee addressed the usual complaints people have with adjustable wrenches. The proprietary adjustment screw is designed so the jaws do not back off during use. On the job, that means less time stopping to tighten the wrench back down after every pull. When you are working overhead, in a mechanical room, or on stubborn hardware, that small detail saves frustration fast.

The jaw design matters too. Milwaukee uses parallel jaws that are built to reduce slipping and help protect finish surfaces. That is useful when you are working on exposed valves, fixtures, locknuts, chrome hardware, or painted components where chew marks are not acceptable. The set includes a 6 inch wrench with up to 15/16 inch jaw capacity and a 10 inch wrench with up to 1-3/8 inch jaw capacity, so you get coverage for tight access work and larger hardware in one package.

Milwaukee also paid attention to how these feel in your hand. The ergonomic handle shape is designed for comfort and to avoid digging into your palm under pressure. On a tool you may use for repeated adjustments all day, that matters more than people think. The chrome-plated finish adds rust protection and durability, which is exactly what you want for hand tools that live in a truck, service pouch, or gang box.

There are a couple of practical touches here that make the set more jobsite-friendly. A laser-etched ruler gives you an easy visual reference for size adjustment, which helps speed up setup when you are moving between fasteners. The tether-ready handle loop is another smart feature for elevated work or sites where dropped tools are a real issue. It is a small addition, but for plant maintenance, commercial service, and lift work, it is a useful one.

This is not a specialty wrench set for one trade only. It fits well for plumbers, maintenance techs, HVAC installers, electricians handling hardware and supports, mechanics, and general contractors who want dependable adjustable wrenches in two practical sizes. Serious DIY users will get the same benefit: less slipping, better comfort, and a set that covers more than a single wrench can. If your usual complaint about adjustable wrenches is that they loosen up, slip off, or feel rough in the hand, this Milwaukee set directly answers those problems.

Better Control on Real Hardware

A good adjustable wrench needs to hold its setting when you lean on it. That is the real advantage here. The screw and jaw design are aimed at keeping the wrench engaged on the fastener instead of forcing you to stop and reset it.

• Proprietary adjustment screw is designed so jaws do not back off during use
• Parallel jaws help reduce slipping and are less likely to damage finish surfaces

Pro Tip

Use the 6 inch wrench for tight access and final snugging on smaller hardware, then keep the 10 inch close for larger fittings and extra reach. With adjustable wrenches, matching the wrench size to the fastener helps you keep better jaw engagement and reduces the chance of rounded corners.
