Key Features

3 Length Setup The adaptable design gives you 10 inch, 18 inch, and 24 inch working lengths. That means one Milwaukee pipe wrench can handle tight mechanical rooms, everyday service work, and jobs where you need more reach and leverage. More Bite, Less Slip The overbite jaw gives you a larger gripping surface, and the through-hardened jaws help the teeth hold up under repeated use. That matters when you are breaking loose stubborn fittings and do not want the wrench walking off the pipe. Built for Real Use Dual coil springs, an ergonomic handle shape, and a tether-ready handle loop make this cheater pipe wrench easier to use on long days and better suited for demanding jobsites where durability counts.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-22-7314 Cheater Pipe Wrench is an adjustable straight pipe wrench built for gripping and turning pipe and threaded fittings when space, leverage, and grip all matter. This is a pipe wrench designed for plumbing, mechanical service, and general pipe work. Model Number 48-22-7314. If you work in cramped utility areas one day and need extra reach the next, this design makes a lot of sense because it gives you multiple working lengths in one tool.

The big story here is the 3 length design. Milwaukee built this wrench to work in 10 inch mode for tight spaces, 18 inch mode for general-purpose use, and 24 inch mode when you need maximum leverage and reach. Instead of carrying separate pipe wrenches for every situation, you can cover a wider range of service calls with one adaptable wrench. That is especially useful for plumbers, maintenance techs, and mechanical contractors moving between open work areas and packed equipment rooms.

Grip is where a pipe wrench either earns its keep or turns into a headache. Milwaukee uses an overbite jaw design for a larger gripping surface, and the jaws are through hardened for increased durability and grip. In practical terms, that means better hold on the pipe and better tooth life over time. The ergonomic hook jaw design also helps with detachment from the work piece, which is a small detail that matters when you are repositioning constantly or working overhead.

Milwaukee also paid attention to long-day comfort and overall durability. The ergonomic handle form is designed so it will not dig into your palm, which is something you notice fast when you are putting real force into a wrench. Dual coil springs are built in for maximum durability and tool life, and the tether-ready handle loop adds a practical jobsite feature for crews working at height or in areas where dropped tools are a real issue.

For capacity, this Milwaukee pipe wrench has a compatible pipe size of 2 inches, a maximum pipe size capacity of 2.2 inches, and a maximum pipe diameter of 2-1/2 inches, with a minimum pipe diameter of 3/8 inch. That gives it a useful range for common service and installation work without pushing it into oversized specialty territory. The steel construction and 21.8 inch listed product length line up with its role as a serious jobsite hand tool, not a light-duty homeowner wrench.

This Milwaukee 48-22-7314 Cheater Pipe Wrench is best suited for plumbers, pipefitters, facility maintenance teams, and contractors who need one wrench that can adapt to the space they are working in. It is also a smart pick for serious DIY users dealing with gas lines, black pipe, or heavy plumbing repairs where a standard fixed-length wrench can be limiting. If your work regularly changes from close-quarter access to high-torque turning, this wrench solves a real problem instead of just adding another tool to the bag.

Work Tight Spots Without Giving Up Reach

The adjustable length is what makes this tool more useful than a standard fixed pipe wrench. You can stay compact when clearance is limited, then switch to a longer setup when the fitting fights back.

• 3 working lengths: 10 inch, 18 inch, and 24 inch
• Built for tight service spaces and higher-leverage turning

Grip That Holds Under Load

A pipe wrench is only as good as its bite. Milwaukee gives this one an overbite jaw for more contact and through-hardened jaws for longer wear, so it is built to keep working instead of rounding off and slipping early.

• Overbite jaw design increases gripping surface
• Through-hardened jaws improve durability and grip retention

Pro Tip

Start in the shorter configuration when you are setting the jaw and finding your angle, then step up to the longer setup only if you need more leverage. It gives you better control in tight spots and keeps you from overworking the fitting right out of the gate.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

One Wrench, More Situations

The Milwaukee 48-22-7314 Cheater Pipe Wrench is the kind of hand tool that earns space in the truck because it solves a real problem instead of just looking clever.

• Who it's for: Plumbers, service techs, and maintenance crews who move between cramped access work and jobs that need extra leverage.
• Why it stands out: The 3-length design is the headline, but the overbite jaw, hardened teeth, and better handle shape are what make it feel like a serious working wrench.
• Worth knowing: At 6.60 pounds, this is not a featherweight hand tool. That extra mass is part of the tradeoff for strength and leverage.
