90-Tooth Ratchet The fine 90-tooth mechanism needs a smaller swing to engage the next tooth, a 20% improvement over 72-tooth ratchets, so these ratcheting wrenches keep turning in tight spots. Grab the Right Size Fast Color-coded size bands and lasered ON and OFF direction markings tell you which wrench you have and which way it turns without squinting at stampings. Roll Pouch Included A premium foam roll pouch with an internal flap keeps all eight wrenches in order and in the pouch, with hang holes for open storage.

Overview

The Klein Tools 69408G 8-Piece 90-Tooth Ratcheting Combo Wrench Set, SAE is a set of eight ratcheting combination wrenches for electricians, HVAC and mechanical techs, maintenance crews, and anyone who turns nuts and bolts in cramped spaces. This is a ratcheting wrench set designed for fastening and loosening hex fasteners where a socket and ratchet will not fit. Model Number 69408G covers 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", and 3/4".

Each wrench has an open end on one side and a 12-point ratcheting box end on the other. The 90-tooth ratchet mechanism minimizes the return angle, which Klein rates as a 20% improvement over 72-tooth ratchets. In practice, that means you can keep a nut moving with a short handle swing between conduit, ductwork, or equipment frames, instead of pulling the wrench off and repositioning after every partial turn.

The box end has a pass-through design, so the wrench can slide down over longer threaded rod and bolts. That is a real advantage on strut and all-thread hangers, where a socket would bottom out on the rod. Once the box end is on, the ratchet does the rest.

Klein forges the wrenches from cold-forged steel alloy with a precision machined finish, then applies a black phosphate coating for long-lasting rust prevention. The I-beam handle has recessed areas where your thumb or index finger rests naturally, which makes the wrenches comfortable to hold through a full day of work and gives you a better grip when you lean on one.

Small details save time. Each wrench carries a color-coded size band, so you can pick the right size out of the pouch at a glance. Lasered ON and OFF markings on the box end show the tightening and loosening direction, so you are not flipping the wrench back and forth to figure out which way it ratchets. The set stores in a premium foam roll pouch with an internal flap that keeps tools from sliding out and hang holes for open storage on a wall or cart.

Who should buy it? Electricians installing strut and hangers, HVAC and plumbing techs working around equipment, maintenance mechanics, and DIYers who want a complete SAE run of ratcheting wrenches in one pouch. If you work on metric fasteners too, the matching Klein 69408MG metric set covers 8 mm through 19 mm.

Pro Tip

Break a tight nut loose with the open end or a standard wrench first, then switch to the ratcheting box end to spin it off. The ratchet is fastest on run-down and run-off, and saving it from breakaway loads keeps it working longer.

The Klein Tools 69408G Set Earns Its Spot in the Bag

A fine 90-tooth ratchet, pass-through box ends, and color-coded size bands make this one of the most practical SAE ratcheting sets for trade work.

• Who it's for: Electricians, HVAC techs, plumbers, and maintenance mechanics who work in tight spaces and on threaded rod.
• Why it stands out: Small swing arc, pass-through design, color-coded sizes, and ON and OFF markings that end the guessing.
• Worth knowing: There is no reversing lever; you flip the wrench to change direction. The set stops at 3/4", so larger fasteners need separate combination wrenches.

Common Questions

• What sizes are included? 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", and 3/4".
