Controlled Bearing Heat Reaches up to 464 degrees Fahrenheit, giving you the heat needed for bearing installation without open flame methods that can be harder to control. Handles Large Bearings Built for bearings with a minimum bore of 1-5/16 in. and up to 23-5/8 in. outside diameter, so it covers serious shop and maintenance work. SBH304 Cross Bar Design The Bessey SBH304 induction bearing heater uses a cross bar heater layout with multiple square size options to fit different bearing setups in industrial service environments.

Overview

The Bessey SBH304 Induction Bearing Heater is a portable cross bar style bearing heater built for shops and maintenance teams that need a controlled way to heat bearings before installation. This is an induction bearing heater designed for heating bearings for installation and service work. Model Number: SBH304. If you are fitting bearings onto shafts and want consistent heat without relying on torches or improvised methods, this is the kind of machine that belongs in an industrial maintenance setup.

What matters here is capacity and control. The SBH304 is rated for bearings with a minimum bore diameter of 1-5/16 in. and a maximum outside diameter of 23-5/8 in., which puts it in the range for larger bearing service jobs. Its maximum output temperature of 464 degrees Fahrenheit gives you the heat needed to expand the bearing for installation while staying within a defined operating range. That matters because bearing work is all about getting the fit right without creating extra risk from uneven heating.

The cross bar heater format is a practical choice for this kind of work. Bessey lists cross bar square sizes of 1-1/4 in., 2-3/4 in., and 3-1/8 in., along with a 14 in. cross bar length, so the unit is set up to work across different bearing sizes and configurations. In plain terms, that gives the operator more flexibility when moving from one bearing job to the next instead of being boxed into a single narrow size range.

From a shop-use standpoint, the electrical requirements tell you where this machine belongs. It runs on 480V and draws 16 A, which makes it a fit for industrial environments with the right power available. This is not a casual benchtop accessory for light duty work. It is built for facilities, maintenance departments, and repair operations where bearing installation is a regular part of the day and dependable heating equipment saves time and reduces installation headaches.

Portability is also worth calling out. Even though this is a substantial heater with overall dimensions of 31-1/16 in. deep, 12-7/16 in. wide, and 18 in. high, it is still classified as portable. That means it is designed to be moved where needed inside a plant or service area rather than being locked into one permanent station. For maintenance crews working across equipment lines or repair benches, that makes day-to-day use easier.

The best buyer for this Bessey induction bearing heater is an industrial maintenance shop, repair facility, or production environment that routinely installs or services bearings and needs repeatable results. If your work involves larger bearings, proper heating before mounting, and a dedicated 480V service area, the SBH304 makes sense. If you only install bearings once in a while, it is more machine than you need. For regular bearing service, though, the size range, cross bar design, and controlled heat output are the reasons to look at it seriously.
