Overview

The Stabila 30716 BM 100 Imperial Scale 16 ft. Tape Measure is a compact hand measuring tool built for everyday layout and measurement work. This is a tape measure designed for repeated length measuring, marking, and general jobsite use. Model Number: 30716. If you want a tape that stays light in the pocket but still holds up to regular construction and shop use, this is the point of the BM 100.

What matters most here is the balance between size and usability. The 16 ft blade length gives you enough reach for common room, trim, cabinet, punch-list, and general carpentry measurements without carrying a bulky case on your belt. Stabila also calls out the precisely readable imperial scale, which matters when you are marking fast and do not want to second-guess the line.

The housing is built around an ABS case with a shock-absorbent soft grip cover. In plain terms, that gives you two real benefits: it feels better in hand during constant use, and it helps the tape deal with the kind of drops and bumps that happen on a real jobsite. For a pocket tape, grip matters more than people think, especially when you are pulling, locking, and retracting the blade one-handed.

Blade life is another practical point. Stabila specifies a robust blade coating for longer service life, which is important on a tape measure because the blade is the wear part you interact with every day. Repeated extension, contact with material edges, and constant sliding back into the housing all add up. A durable coating helps the markings stay readable and the tape stay useful longer.

Stabila also includes a strong brake and a powerful automatic blade retraction mechanism. That combination makes the BM 100 a better fit for repetitive measuring work where speed counts. You can extend, read, mark, and retract without fighting the tool. That is exactly the kind of small time-saver that earns a tape measure a permanent spot in your pocket.

At just 0.51 lbs, this tape measure is clearly aimed at users who carry a tape all day and want less bulk. It is a good match for carpenters, remodelers, installers, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users who need a dependable imperial tape for quick checks and everyday measuring tasks. If you want a compact 16 ft tape measure with a comfortable grip, clear scale, and durable case, this one makes a lot of sense.

Easy to Carry All Day

This is the kind of tape you keep on you, not in a toolbox. The compact body and low carry weight make it better for constant grab-and-go measuring during trim work, shop work, and general construction tasks.

• Compact BM 100 housing is built for pocket carry
• 0.51 lb weight helps reduce bulk during all-day use

Built for Daily Jobsite Use

A tape measure takes hits, gets dropped, and gets used with dirty hands. The ABS case and soft-grip outer cover are there for exactly that kind of work, giving you a tougher shell and a more secure hold.

• ABS housing adds impact resistance
• Shock-absorbent soft grip improves control and handling

Clear Marks, Fast Return

Readable markings and reliable retraction are what separate a decent tape from one you actually enjoy using. Stabila pairs a clear imperial scale with a strong brake and automatic return so repeated measurements stay quick and controlled.

• One-sided inch scale is designed for easy reading
• Strong brake and powerful blade retraction support repeated measuring
