Overview

The SawStop CNS175-PFA30 Contractor Saw is a 10 inch table saw built for accurate ripping, crosscut support, and day-to-day woodworking in a serious home shop or small professional shop. This is a table saw designed for precision wood cutting and safer shop work. Model Number: CNS175-PFA30. With a 1.75 HP motor setup rated at 120V and 14A, a 30 inch Premium Fence Assembly, and SawStop's brake technology, it gives you the capacity most woodworkers actually need with a much stronger safety story than a standard contractor saw.

The headline feature is still the SawStop safety system. On this saw, the spinning blade stops on contact with skin in less than 5 milliseconds and drops below the table. That does not replace good setup or good technique, but it does matter in the real world. If you are outfitting a shop where more than one person may use the saw, or you simply want a margin of protection on one of the most commonly used machines in the shop, that feature alone makes this model worth a serious look.

The cutting side of the package is equally important. The 30 inch Premium Fence System is made for smooth movement, precise measurement, and firm lockdown without noticeable flex. On a table saw, that is what keeps repeated rip work from turning into constant checking and rechecking. You get up to 30 inches of rip capacity to the right of the blade and 12 inches to the left with this fence setup, which covers sheet breakdown support, cabinet parts, trim stock, shelving, and general furniture work without overbuilding the footprint.

The saw runs a 10 inch blade on a 5/8 inch arbor and reaches a max depth of cut of 3-1/8 inches at 0 degrees and 2-1/4 inches at 45 degrees. It uses a left-tilt blade arrangement, which many users prefer for rip work because it helps keep the cutoff away from the fence in common setups. SawStop also lists tight tolerance numbers here, including 0.001 inch maximum allowable arbor runout and 0.010 inch maximum blade alignment displacement with the miter slot. Those are the kinds of specs that matter when you care about clean cuts, square glue-ready parts, and repeatable setup.

From a build standpoint, this saw lands in the sweet spot between portable jobsite units and full cabinet saws. The cast iron table measures 20 inches by 27 inches, and with extension wings installed the main table reaches 44 inches by 27 inches. The saw body footprint is 25-3/4 inches wide by 27 inches deep with the stand installed, while the overall size with the 30 inch fence setup is 61-3/4 inches wide, 40-1/2 inches deep, and 34-3/4 inches high. In plain terms, it gives you a stable work surface and real table saw feel without demanding full cabinet saw money or space.

Dust collection and safety hardware are shop-practical as well. The saw uses a 4 inch dust port, includes a standard polycarbonate blade guard, and uses a 0.090 inch riving knife or splitter thickness. The insert is a zero-clearance design with a phenolic core and melamine surfaces. If you cut a range of materials and want cleaner results with less chip-out around the blade, that insert setup helps. For shops chasing better above-table dust control, SawStop also offers an optional dust collection blade guard.

One of the big reasons people buy this model is flexibility. SawStop calls the Contractor Saw its most configurable saw, with more than 150 unique configurations. Optional add-ons include a mobile base, sliding crosscut table, router table, cast iron wing assembly, and dust collection upgrades. The motor can also be user configured to 220V with an optional conversion kit. If you want a saw that can start as a clean core machine and expand with your shop, this platform makes sense.

Who is this saw for? Woodworkers, remodelers, finish carpenters, school shops, and serious DIY users who want cabinet-saw-level confidence in setup and a much better safety system than the average contractor saw. If you need a truly portable framing saw, this is not that tool. If you want a stable, accurate workshop table saw for furniture parts, casework, trim work, joinery prep, and general woodworking, this is exactly the lane where the SawStop CNS175-PFA30 Contractor Saw earns its keep.

Accurate Rip Cuts Without Fence Drift

A contractor saw lives or dies by fence quality. On this one, the 30 inch Premium Fence Assembly is the reason the saw feels like a serious shop machine instead of a compromise.

• 30 inch rip capacity to the right of the blade and 12 inch capacity to the left
• Premium fence and rail built for smooth travel, precise measurement, and solid lockdown

Built for Real Shop Work

This saw has the footprint and table support to handle serious woodworking without pushing you into cabinet saw territory. It is sized for dedicated shop use, not for bouncing in and out of a truck every day.

• Cast iron table is 20 inches by 27 inches, expanding to 44 inches by 27 inches with extension wings
• Overall dimensions with 30 inch fence setup are 61-3/4 inches wide, 40-1/2 inches deep, and 34-3/4 inches high

Move It When the Shop Layout Changes

One of the best things about this platform is that it can grow with your shop. If your layout changes or you need to reclaim floor space, optional accessories let you tune the saw to the way you actually work.

• Part of SawStop's most configurable saw platform with more than 150 possible configurations
• Optional upgrades include a mobile base, sliding crosscut table, router table, cast iron wings, and dust collection accessories
