Key Features

Tight-Space Ratchet The 90-tooth ratchet works with just 4 degrees of arc swing, so you can keep turning fasteners where a standard ratchet would need more room. Anti-Roll Sockets Milwaukee FOUR FLAT sides help keep sockets from rolling off the bench and give you wrench-ready flats when you need another way to hold or turn them. Complete Metric Set This 3/8 in. metric ratchet and socket set gives you 32 pieces with standard and deep sockets, extensions, a universal joint, and a storage case that keeps the kit organized.

Overview

The Milwaukee 48-22-9508 3/8 in. Drive 32-Piece Metric Ratchet & Socket Set is a metric mechanics set built for automotive work, equipment service, shop use, and general repair. This is a ratchet and socket set designed for fastening and loosening metric hardware in tight spaces. Model Number 48-22-9508. If you spend time under the hood, inside cabinets, around machinery, or doing punch-list repairs, this set gives you the core socket sizes and access pieces you actually reach for.

The big selling point here is access. Milwaukee uses a 90-tooth ratchet with just 4 degrees of arc swing, which matters any time the handle cannot travel far before it hits a frame rail, engine cover, wall, or housing. That finer swing lets you keep moving the fastener with shorter handle strokes instead of constantly repositioning. The slim profile head and flush directional lever help too, because bulk around the head is usually what stops a ratchet from fitting where you need it.

The sockets are not just standard chrome pieces tossed in a box. Milwaukee built this set around its FOUR FLAT design, which gives the sockets flat sides to help deter rolling and makes them wrench-ready. On a bench, cart, or sloped surface, that anti-roll detail is more useful than it sounds. It saves the usual nonsense of sockets wandering off your work area, and the wrench flats give you another option when you need to hold a socket securely.

This kit includes both standard and deep metric sockets from 6 mm through 19 mm, which covers a wide range of common service sizes. Deep sockets matter when you are dealing with longer studs or nuts that sit proud of the surface, while the standard sockets keep the setup compact where clearance is limited. Milwaukee also includes a 3 inch extension, a 6 inch extension, and a universal joint so you can reach recessed hardware and work around obstructions without piecing together extra adapters from another set.

Visibility and durability are both handled the right way. The socket sizes are stamped for easier identification, which speeds up size changes and cuts down on grabbing the wrong one when you are moving fast. The chrome finish helps protect against rust and makes cleanup easier after greasy or dirty work. The sockets are 6-point, which is the right call for mechanics and maintenance work because it gives more contact on the fastener and helps reduce rounding compared to looser-fitting designs.

Storage is also better thought out than the usual blow-molded case. The set comes in a portable carrying case with a removable inner tray designed for long-term storage in a steel tool chest. That means you can keep the full case for transport or drop the tray into a drawer if this becomes part of your daily service setup. For techs who like their drawer layout clean and repeatable, that removable tray is a practical feature, not filler.

Who is this set for? It makes the most sense for mechanics, maintenance techs, installers, remodelers, and serious DIY users who want a dedicated 3/8 inch metric socket set instead of a mixed bag of random pieces. If most of your work is metric and you need a ratchet that behaves well in cramped spaces, the Milwaukee 48-22-9508 3/8 in. Drive 32-Piece Metric Ratchet & Socket Set is a smart, work-ready setup. If you need SAE sizes or impact-rated sockets, this is not that set. If you need a clean metric service kit with useful access pieces and better socket design, it is right in the wheelhouse.

Work Where Clearance Is Tight

This set is built around access. When the handle only has a few degrees of movement before it hits another component, the ratchet still keeps working instead of forcing you to reposition constantly.

• 90-tooth ratchet design
• 4 degrees of arc swing for confined work areas
• Slim profile head with flush directional lever

Keep the Right Socket Close

A good socket set needs the sizes you use most, clear markings, and storage that does not fall apart after a few trips. This one checks those boxes without overcomplicating the layout.

• 32-piece metric set with standard and deep sockets from 6 mm to 19 mm
• Stamped socket sizes for faster size identification

Milwaukee 48-22-9508 3/8 in. Drive 32-Piece Metric Ratchet & Socket Set Gets the Basics Right
