Overview

The Milwaukee 48-22-0159 10-Piece Pliers & Pick Set with Tray for PACKOUT Drawers is a mixed hand tool set built around organization and everyday service work. Model Number 48-22-0159. This is a hand tool set designed for gripping, cutting, stripping, picking, and general repair work while staying organized inside PACKOUT drawer tool boxes. If you want a ready-to-drop tray that keeps your most-used pliers and picks together instead of loose in a drawer, this setup makes a lot of sense.

What separates this set from a pile of loose hand tools is the way Milwaukee built the package around real storage. The reinforced tray uses high-contrast EVA foam with labeled cutouts, so every tool has a place and you can tell at a glance what is in the drawer and what is missing. For techs, mechanics, electricians, maintenance crews, and contractors who already run PACKOUT drawers, that saves time every day because you are not digging through a mixed drawer to find one pair of long nose pliers or one pick.

The long-reach pliers are one of the big reasons this set stands out. Milwaukee calls out best access and maximum gripping force, and the design details explain why: the Deep-Reach Cross Handle layout gives you a wider jaw opening while keeping the tool slim enough for tight spaces, and the single-joint design is aimed at better grip force and control. In plain terms, these are the kind of pliers you reach for when standard pliers do not quite get where you need them to go.

The hose picks are not just filler pieces tossed into a kit to hit a piece count. Milwaukee specifies an all-metal core for up to 50% more durability, plus chrome plating for rust protection and reinforced tips that resist bending. If you work around hoses, seals, clips, gaskets, or stubborn O-rings, that matters. Picks live a hard life, and weak ones bend, twist, or snap. These are built for more repeated use.

The rest of the lineup covers common day-to-day tasks without wasting space. You get a FASTBACK 6-in-1 folding utility knife, a multi-purpose wire stripper with crimper, 8-inch comfort grip long nose pliers, 8-inch comfort grip diagonal cutting pliers, high leverage lineman's pliers, and straight long reach pliers, along with the 4-piece hose pick set and tray. That mix gives you cutting, stripping, gripping, pulling, picking, and general service capability in one organized drawer-ready package.

From a jobsite practicality standpoint, this is about speed and consistency more than novelty. The tray is designed for PACKOUT Drawer Tool Boxes, so the whole set can live in a system instead of rolling around in a bag or getting split between different boxes. That is especially useful if you run service calls, work out of a van, or manage multiple kits where repeatable layout matters.

Compatibility is clear and specific. Milwaukee designed the tray for use in PACKOUT Drawer Tool Boxes including models 48-22-8444, 48-22-8442, and 48-22-8447. If your setup revolves around PACKOUT storage, this set fits the platform instead of forcing you to improvise with generic organizers.

Who should buy it? This set makes the most sense for users who already own PACKOUT drawers and want a dedicated pliers and pick loadout that stays clean, visible, and ready to go. Electricians, service techs, mechanics, maintenance pros, and serious DIY users will get the most out of it. If you do not use PACKOUT drawers, the tools still have value, but the tray-based organization is a big part of what you are paying for.

Organized for Faster Service Work

This set is built around quick access, not just tool count. The tray keeps every piece visible and protected, which makes a real difference when you are working from a service cart, truck, or drawer box and need to move fast.
