Overview

The Klein 33809M Grab-And-Go Impact Socket Set, Metric, 10-Piece is a compact metric impact socket set built for driving and fastening jobs where quick access matters. This is a metric impact socket set designed for fastening with impact tools and compact repair kits. Model Number: 33809M. If you work on equipment, vehicles, electrical hardware, or general service tasks and want the most-used metric sizes in one organized setup, this kit makes a lot of sense.

Instead of loading you up with filler sizes, Klein kept this set focused on the sockets people reach for most: 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, and 19 millimeters. That matters because a socket set is only useful if the sizes you actually need are the ones you can grab quickly. Klein backs that up with bold stamped markings, high-contrast paint infill, and color-coded bands so socket identification is fast even when you're working out of a bag or under less-than-ideal light.

These are 6-point standard-depth sockets with precision hex pockets and optimized wall thickness. In plain terms, that means a more secure grip on fasteners and less fumbling when you're trying to get on a nut or bolt quickly. The 6-point design is the right call for impact use because it puts force where it belongs and helps reduce the chance of rounding hardware compared to looser-fitting options.

Material is another strong point here. The sockets are made from cold-forged, heat-treated chromium-molybdenum steel with a manganese phosphate finish. That combination is what you want in an impact socket set meant for real torque. It is built for repeated impact use, resists jobsite wear better than decorative finishes, and gives the set the kind of durability that makes sense in a service bag instead of a drawer.

Where this kit separates itself from a basic rail or loose-socket setup is the sleeve. Klein uses a TPV storage sleeve with passive socket retention and a mechanical grip system around the color band, so the sockets stay put but still come out easily when you need to swap sizes. That balance matters. Too loose and the set turns into pocket junk. Too tight and every socket change gets annoying. This design is aimed at quick changes without the usual mess.

There is also a practical compatibility angle. The set uses a 3/8 inch drive for the sockets, and Klein includes a 3 inch impact adapter so you can use the set with 1/4 inch impact drivers. That makes it especially useful for technicians and tradespeople who already carry an impact driver all day and do not want to add another dedicated ratchet-only kit just to handle common metric fasteners.

Jobsite carry is clearly part of the design. The included carabiner lets you clip the socket sleeve to a backpack, tool bag, or belt loop for faster access. For anyone doing service work, maintenance, installs, or punch-list repairs, that is more than a convenience feature. It keeps the set visible, organized, and less likely to get buried at the bottom of a bag.

Who should buy it? This set fits best for electricians, maintenance techs, mechanics, installers, and serious DIY users who need a compact metric socket solution for impact-driven fastening. If you want a huge master set for shop use, this is not that. If you want the sockets you actually use, in an organized sleeve, with impact-ready construction and easy carry, this Klein kit is the smarter buy.
