Key Features

Wire Cutting Control The cable-cutting notch gives the Klein Tools 26001 All-Purpose Electrician's Scissors more bite and stability when cutting wire, so tough cuts feel more controlled instead of slipping around in the blades. Forged Steel Blades Forged high carbon steel blades are built to hold an edge longer than lighter stamped designs. That matters when these scissors are in constant rotation for trimming, stripping, and cleanup work. More Than Just Cutting With stripping notches for 19 and 23 AWG wire, a deburring tip, and blade scrapers for cleaning wire, these electrician scissors handle several small electrical tasks without reaching for another tool.

Overview

Klein Tools 26001 All-Purpose Electrician's Scissors are purpose-built jobsite scissors for electrical work. This is an electrician's scissors designed for cutting wire, stripping select wire gauges, and handling small cleanup tasks around panels and boxes. Model Number 26001. If you spend your day trimming conductors, opening cable jackets, or cleaning up rough box edges, this tool is built for that kind of repetitive hand work.

The big reason these stand out is that they do more than a basic pair of scissors. The blade includes a cable-cutting notch for cutting up to 14 AWG solid or stranded wire, which gives you better leverage and keeps the wire from walking out of the cut. There are also dedicated stripping notches for 19 and 23 AWG wire, so you can make quick prep cuts without switching tools for every small task.

The blade design is aimed at control. Serrated cutting edges help keep material from slipping, which is especially useful when you're working with wire insulation, thin cable coverings, or other slick material that can slide in plain blades. The notch in the tip is there for deburring electrical boxes, giving these electrician scissors another practical use that actually matters in finish work and rough-in cleanup.

Klein builds these with forged high carbon steel blades, and that matters because this kind of tool gets used hard. Forged blades generally hold up better over time than lighter stamped designs, especially when the tool is doing more than just soft material trimming. The blades are also sharpenable, which helps extend service life instead of treating the tool like a throwaway item once the edge starts to fade.

The handle shape is worth noting too. Klein calls out the ergonomic handle as suitable for multiple hold preferences, and that makes sense for electrical work where grip changes depending on whether you're making a precision trim, leaning into a wire cut, or using the tool in tight space. At 6.75 inches overall with a 1.8 inch blade, it stays compact enough for pouch or pocket carry without feeling too small to control.

Another useful detail is the scraper on both blades for cleaning wire. That's the kind of feature that sounds minor until you're dealing with oxidation on copper and want one tool in hand that can keep the job moving. Instead of carrying a dedicated scraper for occasional cleanup, these scissors cover that need in the same form factor you're already using.

For the right buyer, this is a practical electrical hand tool, not a general office or craft scissor pretending to be jobsite-ready. It's best suited to electricians, low-voltage installers, maintenance techs, and anyone doing regular wire prep and box work. If you want one compact hand tool that cuts, strips select gauges, deburrs, and cleans wire, the Klein Tools 26001 All-Purpose Electrician's Scissors make a strong case.

Built for Electrical Workflows

These are the kind of electrician scissors that save motion. Instead of using one tool to cut and another to strip, the blade layout lets you handle common conductor prep tasks with one compact hand tool.

• Cable-cutting notch is designed for up to 14 AWG solid or stranded wire
• Wire-stripping notches handle 19 and 23 AWG wire

Grip Material Without Slipping

Serrations are a small detail until you're cutting slick insulation or thin material that wants to skate out of the blades. Here, they help the tool stay planted so cuts feel cleaner and more controlled.

• Fully serrated blade edge improves grip on wire coverings and similar material
• Sharpenable blades help the cutting edge stay useful over the long haul

Extra Utility at the Tip

The blade tip is shaped to do more than cut. When you're cleaning up electrical box edges or dealing with oxidation on copper wire, those added functions keep you moving without digging for another hand tool.

• Notched tip is designed for deburring electrical boxes
• Scraper on both blades helps clean wire

Pro Tip

Use the dedicated notch for the wire size it was made for instead of twisting the conductor in the main blades. You'll get a cleaner strip on 19 and 23 AWG wire, and you'll keep the cutting edge sharper for the jobs that actually need it.
