Key Features

2,000 RPM Fastening This screw gun keeps a consistent top speed up to 2,000 RPM, which matters when you're running long rows of fasteners in metal-to-metal work, subfloor, roofing, or steel decking. Brushless Runtime The brushless motor is built for better efficiency, which helps stretch runtime and keep output steady when the job calls for repeated fastening instead of short, occasional use. Ready for Collated Systems The threaded clutch housing is the big reason to buy this model. It is designed to pair with most third-party collated fastening systems, so you can speed up repetitive screw installation.

Overview

The DEWALT 20V MAX XR Cordless Brushless Drywall Screw Gun Kit with Threaded Clutch Housing, model DCF624P1, is a cordless fastening tool built for heavier-duty screw driving where speed and repeatability matter. This is a drywall screw gun designed for high-volume fastening in metal-to-metal, commercial roofing, subfloor, and steel decking applications. If you need a tool that can keep up with production work and also gives you a path into collated fastening, this is the right kind of setup.

The main performance number here is up to 2,000 RPM. That speed is a practical fit for trades that spend the day driving screw after screw rather than switching between drilling, impact work, and occasional fastening. DEWALT calls out consistent speed, which matters because a screw gun that stays predictable is easier to run cleanly in repetitive work. It helps reduce missed starts, overdriving, and wasted motion when you are moving down a line of fasteners.

The other feature that really separates this model is the threaded clutch housing. That is not just a spec-sheet detail. It is what lets the DCF624P1 accept most third-party collated systems, giving installers a faster way to handle repetitive fastening jobs. If your work benefits from collated screws, this housing design gives you more flexibility than a basic stand-alone screw gun. For crews looking to improve installation time, that is the point worth paying attention to.

DEWALT also builds this tool with a brushless motor. On the job, that means better efficiency and better runtime than an older brushed setup, which is exactly what you want in a cordless screw gun that may run for long stretches. The LED light is another small but useful feature. It helps with visibility in darker corners and work areas without throwing awkward shadows right where you are trying to place the fastener.

As a kit, this version gives you more than just the bare tool. The DCF624P1 includes a 20V MAX 5.0Ah battery and a 12V/20V MAX compact charger, so you can get to work without piecing the system together separately. That makes it a good fit for buyers who want a ready-to-run entry into the DEWALT 20V MAX platform, or for current DEWALT users who want a dedicated screw gun instead of tying up a drill or impact driver on specialty fastening work.

At 5.4 lbs assembled, this is not pretending to be an ultra-light trim tool. It is aimed more at pros who need controlled speed, jobsite durability, and system compatibility for repetitive fastening. The overall width of 3.625 inches keeps the tool fairly manageable in hand, while the cordless layout gets rid of extension cords and makes it easier to move across decking, roofing, or larger install areas.

If you are a drywall installer, metal framing contractor, roofer, or general contractor doing a lot of screw-fastened assemblies, this tool makes sense. If you just need to drive a few screws here and there, it is more tool than you need. But if your day involves production fastening and you want the option to run a collated attachment system, the DEWALT 20V MAX XR Cordless Brushless Drywall Screw Gun Kit is built for that exact lane.
