Key Features

40 Pieces, One Pouch This Wera bit and socket set packs a bit ratchet, a bitholding screwdriver, 28 bits, 7 sockets and a pair of water pump pliers into a case small enough for a glovebox or tool bag. Fine-Tooth Bit Ratchet The 1/4" bit ratchet has 60 teeth and a 6-degree return angle, so it keeps turning fasteners where a screwdriver handle has no room to swing. Bits That Absorb Peak Loads BiTorsion bits flex at a reduced zone instead of snapping, and color coding by profile and size gets the right bit out of the case on the first try.

Overview

The Wera Tool-Check Combi 1, 40-Pieces is a compact bit, socket and plier kit for technicians, maintenance crews, installers and anyone who needs a complete fastening setup that fits in one hand. This is a bit and socket set designed for driving and turning screws, bolts and nuts by hand or in a drill/driver. Model Number 05049070001. It combines a bit ratchet, a Kraftform bitholding screwdriver, a Rapidaptor quick-release bit holder, 28 bits, seven 1/4" drive sockets and a 5" water pump plier in a holder with a robust pouch.

The core of the kit is the 1/4" Zyklop Mini 1 bit ratchet. Bits drop straight into its hex drive, and with the included 1/4" hex to 1/4" square adapter it also turns the sockets. The 60-tooth mechanism needs only a 6-degree swing to pick up the next tooth, and the switch reverses direction with a flick. The knurled rear end lets you spin a loose fastener down with your fingers before you start ratcheting. When there is room for a full turn, swap the bit to the Kraftform bitholding screwdriver; when you want speed, chuck the Rapidaptor holder in a drill/driver and run the same bits under power.

The bit selection covers the screws most people actually run into. You get Phillips #1, #2 and #3, Pozidriv #1, #2 and #3, TORX T10 through T40, tamper-resistant TORX with a bore hole from T10 to T30, a 1 x 5.5 mm slotted bit, and hex bits in 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm. The most-used sizes are doubled or tripled, with three Phillips #2 and three Pozidriv #2 bits in the case. That sounds like a small detail until you wear out a #2 halfway through a job and still have two more on hand.

Wera builds the bits with a BiTorsion zone, a reduced section of the shank that twists slightly under peak load instead of letting the tip break. Tough-design (Z) bits handle general use, and the color-coded "Take it easy" system marks each bit by profile and size. The seven Zyklop sockets in 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13 mm are chrome-vanadium with a matte chrome finish and a ball stop groove, and each carries a color band by size. They are the small hex sizes that cover control panels, appliance hardware, machine guards and fittings.

The Knipex Cobra 87 01 125 water pump plier rounds the kit out with real gripping power. It is 5" (125 mm) long with push-button adjustment and self-locking jaws that grab pipe, hex nuts and fittings up to 1-1/16" (27 mm). In practice, that means one kit can back off a stuck compression nut, hold a fitting while you turn the bolt, and then drive the screws that close the panel.

Everything locks into the holder with green locking components, so nothing rattles loose in a bag or a service truck. The whole set measures about 8-7/16" x 4-1/8" x 2-1/4" (215 x 104 x 57 mm) and weighs about 1.52 lbs (691 g). The holder is also compatible with the Wera 2go transport system.

Who should buy it? Field service techs, facility maintenance staff, electricians, HVAC techs, mechanics and cyclists who want a single compact kit for mixed fasteners, plus homeowners who want one set that covers nearly every screw in the house. If most of your work is driving one type of screw all day, a dedicated bit set will be leaner, and other Wera Tool-Check holders pair a bit ratchet with bits and sockets without the pliers. If you never know what's behind the next access panel, this kit covers it.

A Complete Kit You Can Hold in One Hand

Bits, sockets, three drivers and pliers ride together in one holder, so the kit goes wherever the job does instead of staying on the bench.

• 40 pieces: 12 tools and 28 bits
• About 1.52 lbs (691 g) with the pouch

Turn Screws Where a Handle Won't Fit

The bit ratchet is short enough to work in cramped housings and behind brackets. The fine 60-tooth mechanism means you can keep turning with very little swing.

• 6-degree return angle
• Reversible, with a knurled rear end for fast finger spinning

Bits and Sockets on One Ratchet

The included adapter converts the ratchet's 1/4" hex drive to 1/4" square drive, so the same ratchet turns all seven sockets.

• Sockets in 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13 mm
• Chrome-vanadium with color bands by size

Find the Right Bit Fast

Color bands by profile and size make the case easy to read at a glance, even in a dim cabinet. Wera's driver bit sets use the same coding, so replacements are easy to match.

• Phillips, Pozidriv, TORX, tamper-resistant TORX, slotted and hex
• BiTorsion zone reduces premature bit breakage

Pro Tip

Break a stubborn screw loose with the bit ratchet, then move the bit to the Rapidaptor holder in your drill/driver to back it out fast. On reassembly, run it in with the drill and finish snug by hand with the ratchet so you don't strip small screws.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

The Wera Tool-Check Combi 1, 40-Pieces Is the Grab-and-Go Kit That Covers Almost Everything

A bit ratchet, a screwdriver, a powered bit holder, sockets and real pliers in one hand-sized case is about as complete as a compact kit gets.

• Who it's for: Service techs, maintenance staff and serious DIYers who want one compact set for mixed fasteners in the truck, the bag or the kitchen drawer.
• Why it stands out: The Knipex Cobra pliers and the 60-tooth bit ratchet turn a good bit set into a kit that handles nuts, fittings and screws on the same call.
• Worth knowing: Sockets stop at 13 mm and the hex bits are metric only, so plan on a separate set for larger or SAE hardware.

Common Questions

• Can the bit ratchet turn sockets? Yes. The included adapter converts its 1/4" hex drive to 1/4" square drive for the seven Zyklop sockets.
• Can I use the bits in a drill? Yes. Put them in the included Rapidaptor universal bit holder and chuck it in a drill/driver.
• Are the sockets metric or SAE? Metric: 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 13 mm.
• Which pliers are included? A Knipex Cobra 5" (125 mm) water pump plier with push-button adjustment.
