Key Features

Wide Material Removal The 3 inch wide chisel edge covers more surface with each pass, which helps when you're cleaning concrete, removing scale, knocking off rust, or cutting shallow troughs. Made for 1-1/8 Inch Hex Hammers This Bosch hammer steel is built for demolition hammers with a 1-1/8 inch hex chuck, including Bosch Brute models and other compatible breakers in that class. Heat-Treated Durability Bosch uses alloy steel and a proprietary heat-treat process to hold up better under repeated demolition work, where cheaper chisels tend to mushroom or wear down fast.

Overview

Bosch HS2164 20 In. 3 In. Chisel 1-1/8 In. Hex Hammer Steel is a demolition hammer chisel built for surface removal, cleaning, and rough material stripping in concrete and masonry work. This is a flat chisel designed for demolition, scraping, and trough cutting. Model Number: HS2164. If you run a Bosch Brute or another demolition hammer that accepts a 1-1/8 inch hex shank, this is the kind of accessory you buy when a standard point is too narrow and too slow.

The main advantage here is coverage. The 3 inch chisel width gives you a broader working edge than a point or narrow scaling tool, so you can clean concrete, remove scale and rust, and break up surface material faster without making as many passes. Bosch also calls out the two 60-degree angles on the chisel, which matters because edge geometry affects how the tool bites, scrapes, and peels material away instead of just punching into it.

At 20 inches overall length, the Bosch HS2164 gives you enough reach for floor work and general demolition without getting into extra-long steel that can feel awkward in tighter spaces. That length is a practical middle ground for demo hammers used on floors, slabs, and wall sections where you want control at the bit but still need some standoff from flying chips and dust.

Material matters with demolition accessories, and Bosch lists this chisel as alloy steel with a proprietary heat-treat process. That is the part serious users care about. A demolition chisel takes repeated shock loads, and poor steel shows up quickly as edge deformation, rapid wear, or a shortened working life. Bosch built this hammer steel for repeated concrete and masonry work, not light occasional tapping.

In actual use, this flat chisel is best where you need to remove material across a wider area rather than concentrate impact in one spot. That includes cleaning concrete, knocking off scale and rust, cutting shallow troughs, and taking up some asphalt. It is also a better choice than a point when the job is about controlled removal across the surface instead of aggressive penetration.

Compatibility is straightforward and important. The shank is 1-1/8 inch hex, so this is not a universal fit accessory. It is intended for Bosch Brute hammer models and other demolition hammers that accept 1-1/8 inch hex hammer steel. Bosch also notes internal lock compatibility for the Bosch Brute breaker hammer model BH2760VC and an external collar setup for pneumatic hammers where applicable. Bottom line: match the chuck correctly and this accessory is ready for real breaker-hammer work.

This Bosch chisel is a good fit for concrete contractors, demo crews, remodelers, masonry crews, and rental fleet users who need a dependable wide chisel for heavy removal work. If your job is taking off material, cleaning up surfaces, or opening shallow channels in concrete and similar materials, a wide demolition hammer chisel like this is the right tool. If you need deep breaking or starting holes, you would step down to a point instead.

Built to Strip Material Fast

When the job calls for removing surface material instead of just punching a hole, a wide flat chisel is the right move. The Bosch HS2164 gives you more working edge so the demolition hammer can clear, scrape, and chip material more efficiently.

• 3 inch chisel width for broader coverage per pass
• Designed to clean concrete, scale, and rust and cut troughs in some asphalt

Fits Full-Size Breaker Hammers

This is not a light-duty rotary hammer bit. It is hammer steel for demolition hammers that use a 1-1/8 inch hex interface, which puts it in the class of serious concrete removal tools.

• 1-1/8 inch hex shank for Bosch Brute and other compatible demolition hammers
• 20 inch overall length offers a balanced mix of reach and control

Pro Tip

Use a wide chisel like this when you need to peel material off a surface, not drive deep into it. Let the 3 inch edge do the work at a shallow angle and you'll usually clear more material with less bouncing than you would with a point.

Bosch HS2164 20 In. 3 In. Chisel 1-1/8 In. Hex Hammer Steel Gets to the Point by Not Having One

• Who it's for: Concrete and demo crews, remodelers, and contractors running 1-1/8 inch hex breaker hammers.
• Why it stands out: The 3 inch wide edge covers ground quickly, and the alloy steel construction with Bosch heat treatment is what you want in a chisel that is going to see repeated shock loads.
