Overview

The Tajima PLC2-B900 Micro Chalk is a 32 oz blue snap-line chalk refill built for marking layout lines with a chalk box. This is a snap-line chalk refill designed for clean, visible layout marking in construction and remodeling work. Model Number: PLC2-B900. If you want a refill that lays down a sharper, more even line than coarse powder, this is the kind of chalk that makes a difference every time you snap.

What matters here is the chalk itself. Tajima calls it ultra-fine or micro chalk, and that matters because finer powder coats the line more evenly. That leads to bolder, more uniform marks instead of weak spots along the snap line. On layout work, that means less guessing, easier visibility, and fewer re-snaps when you are trying to stay productive.

The blue formula is made for high visibility, and it also offers fade-resistant performance. For everyday framing, roofing, remodeling, and general layout work, blue is a practical color choice when you need a line that stands out clearly without jumping into specialty fluorescent formulas.

Tajima also built the bottle around real refill use. The easy-fill nozzle helps get chalk into the box with less spilling, which is a bigger deal than it sounds. Anyone who has dumped half a bottle on the floor or in the truck knows a better nozzle saves cleanup and wasted material.

At 32 oz, this is the larger refill size for crews, frequent users, or anyone who does not want to keep buying small bottles. The bottle contains 2 lb (907 g) of blue chalk, giving you enough refill volume to support regular use across multiple jobs instead of running dry halfway through a layout-heavy day.

The Tajima PLC2-B900 Micro Chalk is meant for use with chalk boxes and snap-line layout tools. It is a straightforward consumable, but a good one. Better chalk can improve line consistency, and line consistency is what keeps sheet layout, cut lines, wall layout, and roof work moving without extra correction.

This is a smart buy for carpenters, roofers, framers, remodelers, and general contractors who rely on visible chalk lines and want a cleaner-performing refill. It also makes sense for serious DIY users who want pro-grade layout results from their chalk line instead of treating chalk as an afterthought.

Built for Cleaner Snap Lines

Good layout starts with a chalk line that prints evenly from end to end. This refill is made with ultra-fine powder so the line on the string loads more consistently and transfers a stronger mark when snapped.

• 2 lb (907 g) refill size for longer use between replacements
• Micro-particle chalk made for bold, uniform marking lines
• Easy-fill nozzle helps reduce spills when loading a chalk box

Visible Marks Without Coarse Powder

The fine blue chalk formula is aimed at users who want a line that reads clearly on the work surface and applies more evenly to the string. That is especially useful when you are snapping repeated layout lines and want consistent visibility.

If your chalk line has been running coarse or weak, empty out leftover old powder before switching to Tajima PLC2-B900 Micro Chalk. Mixing fine chalk with heavier old chalk can keep the line from coating evenly.

Why Tajima PLC2-B900 Micro Chalk Earns Its Spot

This is the kind of product that seems simple until you use a better version and realize your old chalk was the problem.

• Who it's for: Anyone running a chalk box regularly for framing, roofing, remodeling, or general layout work.
• Why it stands out: The ultra-fine powder and easy-fill bottle focus on the two things that actually matter here: cleaner snap lines and less refill mess.
• Worth knowing: This is refill chalk only, so you still need a chalk box, but if your current lines look weak or inconsistent, upgrading the chalk is an easy fix.
