Key Features

Gas-Level Clearing Power The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Dual Battery Backpack Blower delivers 650 CFM, 155 MPH, and 20.5 N of blowing force. That gives you the muscle for heavy leaf cleanup and debris moving without dealing with gas engine upkeep. Flexible Runtime Setup This backpack blower runs on two M18 batteries and can use up to four for longer work periods. Run lighter for quick cleanup or load it up when you need more time between battery swaps. Built for Long Days A fully adjustable harness, telescoping nozzle, and tool-free adjustable handle position make it easier to fit the blower to the operator. That matters when you are clearing large properties and want less fatigue by the end of the job.

Overview

The Milwaukee M18 FUEL Dual Battery Backpack Blower, model 3009-20, is a cordless backpack blower built for outdoor cleanup where gas performance used to be the only real option. This is a backpack blower designed for moving heavy leaves, grass clippings, and jobsite debris with less noise, less vibration, and no gas engine maintenance. If you already run on the Milwaukee M18 platform and need serious clearing power, this one makes a strong case fast.

On the numbers, it is not short on output. The POWERSTATE brushless motor delivers a constant 650 CFM, 155 MPH, and 20.5 Newtons of blowing force, and it reaches full throttle in under one second. In real use, that means less waiting for the tool to catch up and better control when you need to pulse material away from beds, sidewalks, curbs, or tight cleanup zones.

What separates this unit from a lot of cordless blowers is the dual-battery backpack format. It requires two M18 REDLITHIUM batteries to run, but the pack gives you four battery ports total so you can add two more for longer runtime. Milwaukee calls out the ability to tailor the setup for the job: run two batteries when you want less weight for quick cleanup, or four batteries when you are covering larger areas and do not want to stop as often.

Comfort and fit are a big part of the design here. The fully adjustable harness helps spread the load across the operator, which matters more on a backpack blower than almost any other handheld outdoor power tool. Milwaukee also adds a telescoping nozzle and a tool-free adjustable handle position, so the blower can be set up to match different operator heights and arm reach instead of forcing everyone into one fixed setup.

Control is handled with a variable speed trigger, mode select, and variable speed lock-on. That matters because not every cleanup job needs max output all the time. You can step down for lighter grass clipping cleanup, dial in a more controlled setting around landscaping, or lock in a speed for longer passes where holding the trigger constantly gets old.

Another big selling point is jobsite practicality. Milwaukee rates the blower at 62 dB(A), which is a meaningful advantage when you are working in neighborhoods, around commercial properties, or anywhere noise complaints are part of the day. You also skip pull starts, engine maintenance, emissions, and the general hassle that comes with gas equipment, while still getting output Milwaukee says is higher than up to 60cc gas blowers.

System fit is straightforward. This blower is part of the Milwaukee M18 System and is compatible with over 250 M18 solutions. It also uses REDLINK PLUS intelligence for communication between the tool and battery, which helps manage performance and protection across the system. For buyers already invested in M18 batteries and chargers, that makes this blower a much easier addition to justify.

Who is it for? Landscapers, grounds crews, maintenance teams, municipalities, school and facility crews, and contractors who need strong cordless blowing performance without the baggage of gas. It is also a smart fit for users who need backpack-blower output but want lower noise and less maintenance. If you only do occasional light cleanup, it is more blower than you need. If you clear a lot of property and want cordless convenience without stepping down in capability, this is the kind of machine worth looking at.

Clear Big Areas Faster

This blower is built for the kind of cleanup where handheld units start to feel slow. The backpack setup puts the weight on your back, keeps the wand in your hands, and gives you the output needed to push wet leaves, grass clippings, and general outdoor debris with fewer passes.

• 650 CFM air volume and 155 MPH air speed for high-output debris clearing
• 20.5 N of blowing force for demanding cleanup work
• Full throttle in under one second for quicker response and better control

Milwaukee M18 FUEL Dual Battery Backpack Blower Fit and Runtime Control

Milwaukee did not just chase output here. The adjustable harness, telescoping nozzle, and repositionable handle make it easier to set the blower up for the operator and the task, while the four-port battery design gives you a real runtime strategy instead of a fixed compromise.

• Requires 2 M18 REDLITHIUM batteries to operate and accepts up to 4 for extended runtime
• Variable speed trigger, mode select, and lock-on help match output to the application
• 62 dB(A) noise level helps when lower-noise operation matters
