Clean CrosscutsBuilt for crosscutting solid wood with a smooth finished surface and reduced splintering, which matters when the cut edge stays visible on trim, moldings, and sections. ATB Tooth GeometryThe 15 degree ATB tooth design with a negative cutting angle is tuned for controlled, clean cutting on radial and pendulum machines instead of aggressive ripping. Runs CoolerFreud's Silver I.C.E. coating helps prevent material build-up on the blade surface, so the blade stays cleaner and runs cooler during repeated production cuts.

Overview

The Freud LU1A07 600mm Carbide Tipped Saw Blade is a large-diameter industrial crosscutting blade built for solid wood on radial and pendulum machines. This is a carbide tipped saw blade designed for crosscutting solid wood. Model Number: LU1A07. If your work calls for visible end cuts on moldings, sections, or trim pieces, this blade is aimed at getting a finished surface with less splintering right off the saw.

What makes this blade matter is not just the size. It is the cutting geometry. Freud specifies an ATB 15 degree tooth with a negative cutting angle, which tells you this blade is set up for controlled, clean crosscuts rather than fast, rough material removal. In plain terms, it is meant to leave a better-looking edge on solid wood where chip-out and tear-out can ruin the piece or create extra sanding and cleanup.

The carbide tipped construction is there for production durability. On a blade this size, edge life and consistency matter because it is expected to work in machine-driven shop or industrial settings, not just occasional hobby use. Freud also adds its Silver I.C.E. coating, which helps reduce pitch and residue build-up on the blade body. That keeps the blade running cleaner and cooler, especially useful when you are making repeated cuts through wood species that leave more buildup behind.

From a practical standpoint, this blade is specifically recommended for end trims on molds and sections where the front-end cut remains visible. That is an important distinction. Some blades can cut wood fine but still leave a finish that needs extra touch-up. The Freud LU1A07 600mm Carbide Tipped Saw Blade is built for shops and users who care what that exposed edge looks like when the part is installed.

Compatibility is also straightforward here. This is not a general-purpose blade for every saw in the shop. It is intended for radial and pendulum machines, and the product language places it in Freud's industrial crosscutting category. That makes it a better fit for dedicated production equipment and specialized setups than for small portable saws. If you are buying for a machine platform that handles large industrial saw blades, application match matters more than anything.

Who should buy it? Wood shops, millwork operations, trim producers, and serious users working with solid wood crosscuts where finish quality counts. If your priority is smooth visible cuts on moldings and sections, this blade makes sense. If you need an all-around jobsite blade for rough framing, this is probably more blade than you need and not the right use case anyway.

Built for Industrial Crosscutting

This blade is intended for radial machine use where repeatable crosscuts and clean finished edges matter more than general-purpose versatility.

• Designed for crosscutting solid wood
• Specified by Freud for radial and pendulum machines

Smoother Visible End Cuts

When the cut face stays visible after install, finish quality becomes the whole point. This blade is recommended for molds and section end trims where splinter-free results save rework.

• High-performance blade for excellent cut quality
• Recommended where a perfectly smooth finished surface is important

Cleaner Blade, More Consistent Work

The Silver I.C.E. coating is not just a cosmetic add-on. It helps reduce material build-up so the blade surface stays cleaner, which supports cooler operation over repeated cutting cycles.

• Silver I.C.E. coating helps prevent blade surface build-up
• Cooler, cleaner running supports more consistent cutting performance

Pro Tip

This blade is aimed at finish-grade crosscuts, so use it for the work that actually benefits from that smoother visible edge, like moldings and section end trims. Save your rough stock or general shop cutting for a more general-purpose blade and this one will earn its keep.

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

Freud LU1A07 600mm Carbide Tipped Saw Blade for Finish-Focused Crosscuts

This is the kind of blade you buy when the cut quality matters enough that you do not want to sand away a bad edge afterward.

• Who it's for: Wood shops, millwork operations, and serious users cutting solid wood on radial or pendulum machines where the end cut stays visible.
• Why it stands out: The ATB 15 degree tooth design, negative cutting angle, and Silver I.C.E. coating all point to one job: controlled, clean crosscutting with less splintering and less blade buildup.
• Worth knowing: This is a specialized large-diameter blade, not a general-purpose jobsite option. Match it to the right machine and application or you are missing the point of what it is built to do.
