Key Features

Built for Medium Metal This circular saw blade is made to cut medium metal and stainless steel including steel studs, angle iron, flat bar, channel, EMT conduit, plate, bar stock, and threaded rod. Cermet II Teeth The Cermet II tooth design handles heat and impact better than standard grinding discs, which means longer blade life, fewer changes, and more consistent cuts. Cleaner, Cooler Cuts Triple chip cutting action, a thin kerf design, and stabilizer vents help reduce sparks, wandering, vibration, and rework when cutting ferrous metal.

Overview

The Diablo D1260CF 12 in. x 60-Tooth Steel Demon Cermet II Saw Blade for Medium Metal is a 12 inch metal cutting circular saw blade built for dedicated low RPM metal cutting saws. This is a circular saw blade designed for cutting medium metal and stainless steel. Model Number: D1260CF. If you are cutting steel studs, channel, angle iron, flat bar, plate, bar stock, EMT conduit, or threaded rod, this blade is built to give you cleaner cuts with less heat and less cleanup than a grinding disc.

What matters here is not just the 60-tooth count, but the way Diablo uses its Cermet II tooth formula and triple chip grind to make those teeth hold up in metal. The result is a blade that is built for repeated metal cutting without burning through itself right away. Diablo states this blade delivers up to 25 times longer life, up to 50 times cooler cuts, and up to 10 times faster cuts compared to standard grinding discs. On the job, that means less time swapping consumables, less discoloration on steel, and less time cleaning up rough edges.

The blade geometry is aimed at control as much as speed. Diablo calls out an optimized blade design that reduces wandering and deflection, which is a big deal when you are trying to keep cuts straight through studs, plate, or bar stock. A blade that tracks properly saves time twice: once during the cut, and again when you do not need to go back and fix an ugly edge. That is especially useful for fabrication work, jobsite steel framing, and repeat cuts where consistency matters.

Diablo also builds this blade around jobsite durability. Tri-Metal Shock Resistant Brazing is there to help the Cermet II teeth stand up to impact, while Perma-SHIELD coating helps resist heat buildup, gumming, and corrosion. Laser cut stabilizer vents are designed to control vibration and noise while helping the blade stay cooler. The thin kerf further reduces cutting resistance, which helps the blade move through metal with less drag and less strain on the saw.

From a practical standpoint, this blade is made for people who want a metal cutting solution that is more controlled than abrasive cutting. Diablo specifically notes reduced sparks, larger chip sizes, and less dust and airborne contaminants versus standard grinding discs. That can make a real difference in indoor work, shop use, or jobs where cleanup and hot work concerns slow everything down.

Compatibility matters with a blade like this. The D1260CF is a 12 inch blade with a 1 inch arbor and a maximum speed of 1,800 RPM. Diablo also states it should be used with a dedicated low RPM metal cutting saw. That is the key point: this is not a general-purpose wood blade and not a blade to throw on any saw you have lying around. Match it to the right saw and the right material thickness, and it is a much more useful tool than a disposable abrasive wheel.

In terms of material range, Diablo positions this blade for 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch wall thickness in steel studs, angle iron, flat bar, channel, and EMT conduit, plus 1/4 inch to 1 inch wall thickness in plate and bar stock, and 1/2 inch to 2 inch diameter threaded rod. That makes it a strong fit for steel framing crews, fabricators, maintenance departments, general contractors, and serious DIY users who regularly cut ferrous metal and want a better finish with less mess.

If your work is mostly wood, this is not your blade. If your work involves repeated metal cutting and you are tired of heat, sparks, rough edges, and short life from abrasive solutions, the Diablo D1260CF 12 in. x 60-Tooth Steel Demon Cermet II Saw Blade for Medium Metal is the right kind of upgrade.

Pro Tip

Clamp the material down and let the saw maintain the proper cutting speed. This blade is built to cut, not grind, so pushing too slow can work against the clean-cut advantage Diablo designed into it.

Tool Nut's Take

Diablo D1260CF 12 in. x 60-Tooth Steel Demon Cermet II Saw Blade for Medium Metal Gets the Job Done Without the Grinding Disc Mess

If you cut metal often enough to care about speed, finish, and cleanup, this blade makes a strong case for leaving abrasive wheels behind.

• Who it's for: Contractors, fabricators, maintenance crews, and serious DIY users running a dedicated low RPM metal cutting saw.
• Why it stands out: The Cermet II tooth design, thin kerf, and stabilizer vents are all working toward the same goal: straighter cuts, less heat, fewer sparks, and longer life.
• Worth knowing: This is a purpose-built metal cutting blade with a 1 in. arbor and 1,800 RPM max rating, so make sure your saw matches the blade instead of trying to force a fit.
