Key Features

Built for Metal This circular saw blade is made for medium metal and stainless steel work, including steel studs, angle iron, flat bar, channel, conduit, plate, bar stock, and threaded rod. Cermet II Teeth Cermet II teeth handle heat better than standard carbide options, which means fewer blade changes, cooler cuts, and longer usable life in metal cutting. Cleaner, Straighter Cuts The Triple Chip grind, thin kerf design, laser-cut stabilizer vents, and shock-resistant brazing work together to reduce wandering, vibration, sparks, and rework.

Overview

The Diablo D1472CF 14 in. x 72-Tooth Steel Demon Cermet II Circular Saw Blade is a metal cutting blade built for dedicated low RPM metal cutting saws. This is a circular saw blade designed for cutting medium metal and stainless steel with more control, less heat, and less cleanup than grinding discs. Model Number: D1472CF.

If you cut steel studs, angle iron, flat bar, channel, EMT conduit, plate, bar stock, or threaded rod on a regular basis, this blade is aimed right at that work. Diablo uses Cermet II teeth, a ceramic and metallic tooth material that is built to handle heat and wear better than standard carbide options for metal cutting. In practical terms, that means the blade holds up longer when the job involves repeated cuts in ferrous material, and it keeps performance more consistent as the workday goes on.

The 14 inch diameter, 72-tooth layout, and Triple Chip grind are what make this blade a serious metal cutting option instead of just a general-purpose saw blade. The higher tooth count helps produce a more controlled cut, while the grind pattern is designed to reduce sparks and improve finish quality in steel and stainless applications. Diablo also claims up to 10 times faster cuts than standard grinding discs, along with up to 50 times cooler cuts, which matters when you want to avoid excessive heat discoloration and extra cleanup on finished metal.

Jobsite behavior is where a blade like this earns its keep. Diablo built this one with laser-cut stabilizer vents to reduce vibration and improve stability, plus a laser-cut thin kerf to lower resistance and heat buildup. That combination helps the blade track straighter through metal instead of wandering or deflecting, especially on repetitive chop saw work. The optimized body design is intended to deliver precise cuts that need little to no rework, which is exactly what you want when you are batching conduit, threaded rod, or framing components.

Durability details matter on metal blades, and Diablo loaded this blade with the right ones. Tri-Metal shock-resistant brazing helps the teeth stand up to impact, while the Perma-SHIELD coating is there to resist heat buildup, gumming, and corrosion. That matters if the blade sits in the trailer between jobs or sees a mix of clean stock and dirtier material on site. The 0.083 inch kerf also helps keep the cut efficient without asking the saw to work harder than it needs to.

This blade is not for high-speed wood saws. It is specifically intended for use with a dedicated low RPM metal cutting saw, and the listed maximum speed is 1,800 RPM. It uses a 1 inch arbor, so fitment matters just as much as diameter. If your saw is a low RPM metal cutting platform built around a 14 inch blade with a 1 inch arbor, this blade fits the use case well.

Material range is another strong point. Diablo lists it for cutting 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch wall thickness in steel studs, angle iron, flat bar, channel, and EMT conduit; 1/4 inch to 1 inch wall thickness in plate and bar stock; and 1/2 inch to 2 inch diameter threaded rod. That gives fabricators, commercial contractors, electrical crews, drywall framers, and general trades a blade that covers a lot of the common ferrous stock they run into.

Who should buy it? Anyone running a low RPM dry-cut metal saw who wants cleaner, cooler, more repeatable cuts than a grinder setup can deliver. If your work is mostly ferrous metal and stainless, and you care about cut quality, reduced sparks, and less rework, this Diablo blade makes a lot more sense than burning through stacks of abrasive discs.
