Overview

Makita BL1850BDC2X1 18V LXT Battery and Rapid Optimum Charger Starter Pack

The Makita BL1850BDC2X1 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Battery and Rapid Optimum Charger Starter Pack is a battery and charger kit for powering Makita 18V LXT cordless tools. This is a battery starter pack designed for anyone buying bare tools who needs a dependable power supply, and it includes two BL1850B 18V LXT 5.0Ah lithium-ion batteries and one DC18RC Rapid Optimum Charger.

Two 5.0Ah batteries are the practical setup for real work. With the DC18RC charging a 5.0Ah pack in 45 minutes or less, you can run one battery while the second charges and rarely stop for power. Each BL1850B provides up to 65% more run time per charge than the BL1830 3.0Ah battery, and weighs 1.4 pounds.

The BL1850B uses Star Protection Computer Controls to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. An integrated LED charge level indicator reads out remaining charge. The impact-resistant outer case has a shock-absorbing inner liner, and sixteen contact terminals help maintain a solid connection under vibration. Low self-discharge means a pack is ready to use even after sitting in storage, and the batteries are rated to deliver consistent power in cold weather down to -4 degrees Fahrenheit.

The DC18RC Rapid Optimum Charger has a built-in communication system that reads the battery's chip and actively controls current, voltage and temperature during charging. A built-in fan circulates air through the battery as it charges to cool it for faster charge times.

These batteries fit Makita 18V LXT tools with the Star symbol or a yellow battery receiver. Makita's 18V LXT system is one of the largest cordless lines built on an 18V slide-style lithium-ion battery, covering drills, impact drivers, saws, grinders, outdoor tools and more.

Buy this pack if you are starting on Makita 18V LXT with bare tools, or if your current packs are worn out and you want a fresh pair of 5.0Ah batteries plus a rapid charger in one purchase.

Smart Charging That Protects the Pack

The DC18RC does more than push power. It talks to the battery and adjusts the charge to protect the cells.

• Communicates with the battery chip to control current, voltage and temperature
• Built-in fan cools the battery while it charges
• Charges a 5.0Ah battery in 45 minutes or less

Built to Take Jobsite Abuse

The BL1850B is the workhorse 18V LXT pack: enough capacity for saws and grinders without the bulk of a larger battery.

• Impact-resistant case with shock-absorbing inner liner
• Sixteen contact terminals for a steady connection
• Integrated LED charge level indicator
