Key Features

Faster Masonry Cuts The segmented turbo rim and Speed-Edge slot design help the disc cut up to 30% faster than standard segmented diamond discs. That means less time leaning on the grinder and more steady progress through concrete, brick, and block. Smoother Control A hardened disc body and slot design reduce vibration and improve impact resistance. On an angle grinder, that translates to better control and cleaner tracking in tough masonry material. Built for Tough Material This Diablo masonry cut-off disc is made for concrete, concrete with rebar, brick, and block. Taller diamond segments and a durable bond are there for one reason: longer life when the material fights back.

Overview

Diablo DMADST0500 5 Inch Diamond Segmented Turbo Cut-Off Discs for Masonry is a 5 inch diamond masonry cut-off disc built for angle grinders. This is a diamond cut-off disc designed for cutting concrete, concrete with rebar, brick, and block. Model Number: DMADST0500. If you need a grinder blade for masonry work that cuts fast and holds up in abrasive material, this is the kind of accessory that earns its keep pretty quickly.

The big selling point here is speed without giving up durability. Diablo uses a diamond segment Speed-Edge slot design to reduce vibration and keep cutting speed up, with a claimed performance gain of up to 30% faster cuts than standard segmented diamond discs. In practical terms, that matters when you are making repeated cuts in block, trimming pavers, opening up a concrete edge, or working around reinforced concrete where a slow blade just turns into heat and frustration.

Diablo also calls out 60% taller segments with superior quality diamonds and an ultra-durable bond to the disc body for up to 4 times longer life versus standard diamond discs. That is the kind of feature that matters more than flashy marketing copy because segment height and bond quality are what keep a masonry blade working after the first few jobs. Instead of fading early, the disc is built to maintain usable cutting performance as the job goes on.

The hardened disc body is there for real-world jobsite use, not just for a spec sheet. It helps absorb vibration and improve impact resistance, which matters when the grinder is seeing uneven pressure, rough starts, or harder aggregate in the cut. Less chatter means better control, straighter tracking, and less operator fatigue when you are working through dense concrete or mixed masonry material.

Another practical advantage is flexibility at the arbor. The disc is compatible with 7/8 inch, 20 mm, and 5/8 inch arbors, so it fits a wide range of angle grinders without making you chase a special setup. It is also rated for wet or dry cutting use, which gives you options depending on the material, the work area, and whether dust control or cooler operation is the priority for the job.

At 5 inches in diameter and rated for a maximum 12,200 RPM, this diamond blade is sized for common small angle grinder cutting applications where maneuverability matters. That makes it a strong fit for remodelers, masons, concrete crews, general contractors, and serious DIY users who need a compact masonry cutting disc for punch-list work, repairs, trim cuts, and short production runs. If your work regularly involves brick, block, or concrete and you want a faster-cutting angle grinder blade with better life than bargain discs, this one makes a lot of sense.

Pro Tip

Tool Nut's Take

Tool Nut's Take

Diablo DMADST0500 5 Inch Diamond Segmented Turbo Cut-Off Discs for Masonry is a smart upgrade over throwaway masonry discs

If you cut concrete or block with a grinder often enough to care about speed, control, and not burning through blades, this is the kind of disc worth buying once instead of buying cheap twice.

• Who it's for: Contractors, masons, remodelers, and serious DIY users cutting concrete, brick, block, or reinforced concrete with a 5 inch angle grinder.
• Why it stands out: Faster cutting, taller diamond segments, reduced vibration, and multi-arbor fitment make it a more useful real-world blade than a basic segmented disc.
• Worth knowing: This is a single disc, not a multi-pack, and it is meant for masonry materials only. Match the arbor correctly and keep the grinder within the rated speed.
